Hi guys, I'm looking at this notebook and was wondering if I could put in a 9800 gtx 1gb. gpu?
    Here are the specs:

    Intel Core2 QUAD Q6600 2.4GHZ 8MB L2 Cache 1066FSB
Intel PM965 + ICH8M PCI Express Desktop Chipset
4GB Dual Channel DDR2-800 System Ram
100GB 7200 RPM System Drive 8MB Cache SATA
    200GB 7200 RPM x2 RAID-0 Video Drive Array - 400GB
Nvidia GeForce8800GT 512MB DDRII w/ DVI Out Dual Simultaneous Display
    windows XP SP2

Is the Q6600 a decent processor?
Is it worth putting in the 9800 GTX if possible?
Will it be OK to run Diablo 3 when it comes out?
Is there any games it wouldn't play?

Thanks Guys, I love the site and have been trying to catch-up with all the new stuff, been out of the loop for a few years...my laptop now is a 4 year old HP dv5030us and it freezes-up playing MINESWEEPER...LOL...nah, but close...Time for an upgrade

yes, its still faster than ANY mobile cpu for overall usage and gaming... and will crush any dual core CPUs in multi-threaded apps/games

its quite a premium to pay for an extra 15-20% performance increase, but if you have budget, go for it. (IMO, not bang for the buck... yet)

Easily, the beta tests are running fine with mid-range systems.

for current games, none that I can think of.

for future games, got no crystal ball... but this system should last longer than other notebooks with mobile platforms... especially since it has a quad-core CPU and interchangeable videocards.

Lastly, in your specs, you should consider 320GB 5400rpm drives over the 200GB 7200rpm drives... because they actually perform the same and give you less heat with more storage. ;)

It has been proven that the new generation of 5400rpm drives (320GB and up) have such a high density that their seek times are about the same as the previous generation 7200rpm drives (200GB and below).

So if you are looking at sub-200GB 7200rpm drives, really consider the larger 5400rpm drives... to get more for your money.

That said, the "bang for the buck" HDD at the moment are 320GB 5400rpm drives... for both price and performance. :)
