I have recently tried to connect my NP9262 to my TV to watch a few movies. I am running both Windows Vista Ultimate x64 and Windows XP Pro. I have not been able to have my notebook recognize that I have something connected to it via the SVideo cable. Are certain drivers needed for this? Am I supposed to turn SVideo on similar to how I need to do the same for the camera?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    System specs are in sig.

Long time/no see. How's everything else?

I think that the S-video on these systems is output-only, so I don't believe that you'd be able to push a TV signal into the notebook via the S-video feed.

What about if you installed one of the build in tv tuners? I wonder if that would make it possible to connect, say a Xbox 360 to a notebook.

The S-video Out port (according to the manual) is on the left side of the notebook. The one on the back is apparently an SVideo-In (and only available with the TV tuner). It is always best to connect the TV before you boot the laptop.

Yes, you can hook up your 360 to the TV Tuner. In vista you have to add it as a media extender in Media Center.

but I guess the quality will be much worse than vga or component connection. Hmm.

Try using alt +f4 to switch to s-video. Might work, should cycle between s-vid only, laptop only, both (+ maybe none).

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I am trying to push the video OUT to the TV.

How's it going Shyster? :D The notebook is working as it should. The only gripe I still have with it is the lack of a more adaptable fan control.

I also fixed any wireless problems I had by getting a new router that was more compatible with my card. (mmm 1gbps lan transfer >:])

danny2001, I purchased my notebook from XoticPC and on their pictures they showed the back as being the SV out, but on the notebook itself it labeled the one on the side as being the SV out so I just went with that. Turns out I was right but thanks for clarifying.

De@thknight, Fn+F4 is sleep mode, but I have played around with the others as well.

Thank you all for your responses.

P.S. I wish I had time for a review up until now. Work has been really hectic. :(
