I picked up the Creative G550W surround sound system which has a SPDIF input. I custom ordered a 3.5mm to 3.5mm (M to M) SPDIF cable to connect my 9262 with this speaker system (it only cost about $20 from ram electronics). For some reason, I only hear scratching and sometimes a little bit of the actual music I want to hear. I opened up the Realtek audio manager and played with all the settings (set HD audio as dominant, etc.), to no avail.

I also have a television (samsung ln52a650) with a toslink output (AKA optical SPDIF). I sent a toslink cable from the tv to a optical to digital spdif converter box, and then sent a spdif cable from the box to the speakers and I'm having the same problem. I guess it could be my new speakers, but it seems highly unlikely. Through internet searches, I cannot find any threads on SPDIF components not working, but I don't think many have even tried to use it.

I hope what I wrote wasn't to confusing. I figured this is the SAGER/CLEVO forum so some of you guys are pretty technical and will know what I'm talking about.

Anyone have any suggestions or comments?
