So, backstory is, at first they would work, but go in and out. Since i use USB mouse, this is a problem since i game, and well, i need my mouse to game. SO, i uninstalled my UBS drivers. Now, i want some new ones. My comp is not finding the drivers on its own. SO where can i find good USB drivers for this beast, the Clevo D901c, cant find them anywhere.

so what do you see when you look at the usb ports under device manager?
-
thats happened to me before... a Windows/software bug.
easiest way is to go to Device Manager:
- (under USB controllers) right-click and Uninstall any/all "USB Root Hubs".
then either restart the system or make the Device Manager to "Scan for hardware changes".... which will force windows to reinstall and reconfigure the USB ports to default. -

that's not just a clevo thing...(quite a few laptops are like that as well) that goes for desktops as well. where some times you have to use a certain port to get and keep the full 5 volts it sends out.(usually front usb is not full 5 volts)
try all 4 ports till you figure out which one is the main port or main side. unless you have done this already.....they usually designate one port as being the number one port to plug in stuff that cause problems with sending or receiving to much voltage or something to that effect. -
it depends on the USB devices you connect to it I think... not the notebook or desktop.
I havent had this issue for a long time now since I made sure to not let too many high-powered USB devices (like external HDDs and such) connect directly to the notebook's USB ports.
I only have my Zalman NC2000 and Logitech Mouse connected.... the rest of my USB devices is connected through an external powered USB Hub. -
^^ yeah, what gophn said.

i checked those out. for some reason, ihave SEVEN different drivers for what should be SEVEN ports. But, i only have FOUR ports... SO i dunno wat the hell is going on. Two of the seven have DOUBLE the designated bandwidth allocation. (20% instead of 10) But Wen i plug my mouse into all 4 ports, it never is plugged into those two ports. Which i dont even kno why i have SEVEN drivers?!

I hope you realize that you have internal USB controllers as well... for devices such as web cam, bluetooth, etc...

Possible solution (for Vista x64):
1. In "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" There are two folders named "usbstor.inf" but each one had a different set of numbers attached to the end of the folder name. - could this be where part of the problem lies?
2. When you look in the "C:\Windows\inf" folder, you would discover the usbstor.inf and usb stor.pnf files were missing - this definitely had to be an issue.
Once you discover these anomalies, proceed to copy the pnf and inf files from the most recently updated usbstor.inf folder to "C:\Windows\inf". Then go back to the update driver wizard, point it to the inf folder and what do you know but they all started working again.
This works Vista Ultimate 64-bit. -
are all of those completely different usbstors?
..
nvmd, oh crap, they ARE!.. so i checked my /inf usbstor with the ones from the repository its an exact match to the newest one which is from march 2008. the others are from 06 and 07.
So, i guess i do have the newest version of the usbstor. But this issue didnt start back in march, so its not like a rollback issue or anything. thanks for that tho, i did learn something new about where all that stuff is stored and how it works now
9262 USB ports NOT working, need drivers
