Hi,
I just got my 9262 yesterday and worked out from the forums you need to hit Fn F10 to get it to work (at least in Skype for me that was required). My question is should I be turning it off when not using the webcam? Is it using resources by not switching it off after use?
Thx

yes, it will use resources, and here's why. When you do the Fn+F10 combo, the device then becomes active to the OS. I can only imagine that they did this in an efficient way, such as using a USB port on the 965 north bridge to connect the camera. Once it's detected, it loads the driver, and background application (BisonView or whatever it is). These continue to run in the background until the camera is "disconnected" by pressing Fn+F10 again. I can't imagine it uses a whole lot of resources, but I have seen stranger things, I guess. In practice, if you're not using it, you should turn it off. That being said...I usually forget to.

I would guess they cut its power when you turn it off, so it should make a small difference to battery life

The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
I also turn it off when not needed.
