I have not done any upgrades since I bought the system year ago. Are there any I need to install for XP Pro, and how do I go about doing so? Thanks.

There's no "need" to update the drivers if your computer is working fine.
If you haven't updated your notebook since you got it, then it more than likely is still using the initial drivers that came installed (which can be downloaded from Sager's website).
There's probably newer drivers for it. The most common one to update would be your GPU. So what video card do you have? Check out the nVidia or ATI website and download the latest drivers. It could improve performance (depending on what you do).
You could check out if there are newer drivers for other components (wireless card, sound card) but I wouldn't really bother with those unless you're noticing problems. -
I have a 9800M GTX. What is the technique for doing the upgrade? i tried on another palmtop over a year ago unsuccessfully.

You can try to update using nVIDIA's mobile drivers, but we tend to recommend sticking with Sager's drivers (available at http://74.212.252.103/pages/notebooks/download.cfm?ProductType=9262). nVIDIA's drivers are not always fully compatible.

Thanks. if that is your recommendation, than my system is newer than the XP drivers I thought I saw on your link(minus the end )).
9262 drivers
