I am close to buying one. I have a few questions:
I am not that tall or strong, do you suggest a specifc backpack or rolling bag?
With the USB port in the rear, which type of mouse(wireless/corded and which specific ones)?
    Is a cooler really needed?
Thats all for now, thanks in advance.

    Its up to you.

A nice comfortable backpack like Targus XL would due. Or any roller case thats fits this would be fine.
There are 4 USB ports actually on the right side. You can get any mouse of you choice, just make sure its comfortable... go to a store and test them out before buying.
Not really, since this has the best cooling system.

However, its always good to have extra cooling, especially if the place(s) you are using it at is warm or hot.

I am not very strong either, and I do not mind using the standard bag that the laptop came with. However, a backpack would probably be the better route. Everyone who has chosen a backpack recommended the Targus XL.

There are 4 USB ports, and they are located on the right side of the machine. I use a Logitech MX Revolution RF mouse. The receiver is quite large, and I sometimes bump into it. It's not that bad though.

I don't use a notebook cooler, but I have the fans on max almost all of the time. Because of that, I clean the notebook out with compressed air regularly.

    Thats good enough. :)

I am not strong either, but I got used to the weight with a backpack.

Imagine carrying 2 notebooks in the same time as I do sometimes, both 17 inchers with 8.5 pounds or more. :D
The 9262 is worth the pain, especially with the power it houses...

Well, with one under each arm, at least you're balanced, and as a plus, think of all the savings on the gym membership! :D :D

anyone try out the aluminum briefcase that comes through PCMW's blackhawk?

I like the look of that, i just don't think it would be very 'comfortable' for a 10-15minute walk

anyone know what brand/make it is?

Too many hours at work. I should have remembered where the USB ports were.
If I were buying a rolling suitcase, would I just use a 17" sleeve? I haven't used a backpack, so I may go this route.
The total weight of laptop plus brick is about 15 lbs?

Yes, the total weight is roughly 15 pounds.

I think if you put it in a rolling suitcase, any bumps you hit would be felt. Not that the NP9262 couldn't handle it, just wanted to say. The choice is totally yours.

If you choose a roller case, make sure to get extra padding for the notebook.

I think a notebook sleeve would be good for that option.

So a sleeve would not have enough padding for a rolling bag designed for clothes, etc. I do not recall anyone posting padded sleevs for the 9262; are there any acceptable ones?

I use an Alienware Deluxe and it's being enough with padding IMHO.

    I have a 9262 with QX9650 and 2 8800m GTX SLI.

my temp with a notebook (Zalman NC2000) cooler (middle speed fans) in summer:
    - on the 4 core of CPU: 70°C max.
    - on the 2 GPU: 85°C max.

Take a notebook cooler imo if you have a similar config and if you want to play during hours.

remember not to block the vents...

also remember to use the Fan Toggle (Fn+1) to switch all fans to max speed to keep the temps down.

Gophn, I did not know the Fn+1 option was for the fans, thanks.
Anyone suggest that SSDs are really ready to replace the HD with 3 Gb/s transfer rates? I was recommended not to get a SSD at this time.
