Anyone having trouble with express card slot on 9262? I have AT&T Sierra 881 aircard (54mm) and when I insert the card, it does not seat and power up...

    EDIT:
I just got that sinking feeling, that the Sierra aircard I have is the wrong form factor for the express card slot in the 9262 (the Sierra aircard I have is 54mm width). The spec on the 9262 does say "Express Card 54/34", and I took that to mean that it is a universal interface, accepting 54mm or 34 mm cards.

Can someone who uses the express card slot on a 9262 confirm for me, if 54 mm wide express cards will work in the 9262 please?

the Express card slot in this notebook should support both Express Card 54/34 cards.

make sure the card is inserted correctly and securely.

could it be your card that is faulty ? does it work on another computer? does a different card work on your 9262 ?

try those out, then you'll know which part is wrong..

Card is inserted properly, but does not power up. I'm off to AT&T to try another card, hoping it's defective.

If not i toss this box back to Sager

I got it together, they dumped a pc card, not an express card on me, in the model 881. If i had done my homework I would have pulled the spec on express cards and would have known, they use a diff connector than pc cards...

glad you did not try to force that PC card into your slot... that would have caused some damage.

Dang, I really liked my hammer idea :D

I take it everything is working as it should now, good to know since I have never tried my express card slot.

9262 says support for 54/34 form factors, but if you look inside the slot, you will see the only 54mm form factor card that could be supported would have to be one of the "L" shaped cards, 54mm outside, 34 mm on the connector side.

So my advice look for 34mm form factor express cards and avoid some grief...
