Been doing my homework about this laptop and it seems to be perfect for its price. However im trying to keep my budget at $1400 including tax/shipping and I am alittle worried about the T5800 (2.0GHz), is this 45nm? I am looking at xoticpc.com and upgrading to T8100 (2.1GHz) for $100 worth it?

thanks, and I cant update to the T9300 because it will go over my budget. If anyone else can recommend a different site to buy one let me know! thanks

Try buying a barebone from prostar or lynnbay and install/upgrade the CPU, RAM, and Hard Drive yourself.

    Barebones from RJtech:
    http://mivasecure.abac.com/rjtech/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=M570RU-U

    for $999.

    comes with:
    - WUXGA 1920x1200 matte
    - Nvidia 9800M GTS
    - 2X Blu-Ray / DVD-RW Drive

I recommend to stick with one of the fully configured systems since you will actually be saving money rather than building it yourself... unless if you already have parts or can get them for much cheaper.

But why not build yourself? The barebone is still under 1/2yr warranty from the (re)seller, so should the other components be. True, there is more personal hassle but if you feel up to the task, then why not.

I would recommend buying your notebook pre-built , with all components installed, if only for the less-hassle issue , if one or more components fail !

Might have seen in other post's, that my 5793's GPU failed after only 8 days of ownership, with one call , notebook was shipped and repaired, free of charge.

thanks for the input but I would rather buy it prebuilt, but now I am having second thoughts about getting the np8660... I cant decide!!

np5793- I care less for a bluray player. I like the 17" screen and the looks of the laptop, but whats holding me back is the cpu.
np8660- Would REALLY prefer a 17" but this is more powerful and more future proof.

This is all in a budget around $1400.. So I cant get the T9300 with the np5793. Anyways Ill think over this, this weekend.
