Does anyone know what Sager charges for installing a new or refurbished motherboard. They are telling me I damaged it ,( how I don't know, I just couldn't get it to post) and am responsible for parts and labor. Thanks.

What kind of damage did they say? Hard to believe it is damaged in any shape or form, unless condensation got to it somehow. Did you strip the whole unit down and test each component? A no screen post means ram or cpu bad. But on the x79 board, most likely ram.

If you left some modified bios/vbios on there, then I'm sure that's why they are claiming you damaged it. Ask them specifically what is damaged and where it is damaged. I bet the board is not damaged at all and they won't be able to give you specifics. If it were me, I'd just ask for it back and try to troubleshoot it myself.

But I have no idea on your question of cost. Good luck and keep us posted.

if you do find it is truly the MB, you can check with RJTech and see if they have parts available.

It sounds like they already have your computer since they have looked at the motherboard right? They should be able to provide you pricing directly.

Pricing depends on the system, but for your model it is going to be steep─ probably $450 - $500+ just for the board, as well as whatever labor charge there may or may not be.
