Get the 9550! You'll still be alive and use the rest of the money for Starvin Marvin.

I know the increase in performance will be slight at best but to spend this much on a rig and not get the lastest and greatest would kill me more then just waiting a week or so(hopefully not longer then that)

I went round and round also. Thought it over and discussed it till everyone told me to shut up. Then the idea hit me. Take the refund from the price drop in cpu, stay with the 9550, and upgrade the drive to blu-ray. I'm very happy with my choice.

so my issue was I also had the 3 ssd drive config's so i got the money back from those, upgraded to the blue ray, asked for the 9650 and still am getting money back! now if only during this delay we got info on the 9800 gtx sli and life would be perfect.

If I wanted to wait for better performance, the GTXs in SLI would be the one I'd steer towards.

As fast as the 8800/9800's SLI perform, it's hard to imagine a noticeable improvement. Programs don't lag now, so what's next to gain?

Well what I mean by wait is see what the 9800GTX have to offer. We don't really know what they can even do yet.
