I bought a 970m from Eurocom to replace my dead 7970m on my p170em laptop, and I can't seem to get rid of a 60 fps cap on games.
I've done clean installs of both intel and nvidia drivers including using ddu to clear any drivers. And tried previous versions of drivers.
Vsync is off in the control panel, and I've also tried nvidia inspector and rtss to disable any vsync and frame rate limit settings.
I've also disabled Game DVR and tried changing display scaling settings.
But can't seem to lose the 60 fps cap.
So apart from doing a clean install of Windows 10, has any one got any suggestions?

Have you tried the latest drivers 364.51? -

What titles have you tested? Have you tried it in a benchmark like 3dmark?
-
3dmark was first thing I tried, as I like to use it, to test graphics cards are running at round about the right performance. So was first thing I noticed it on.
I've found if I run the games window borderless, that it removes the cap. -

It could be an odd Vbios thing, I assume running on the intel IGP does not do this?
-
Yeah, the Intel igpu doesn't seem to be capped.

Does it happen in windowed and full screen?

If you go into the Nvidia Control Panel - "Manage 3D settings" and under Global settings; do you find "Monitor technology: G-Sync" there? You may have to make sure that you're actually using the advanced 3D settings, and not just "let the 3D application decide", or "use my preferences emphasising:" ...
The latest 2 driver updates from Nvida has been ... iffy, and among other things, the G-sync settings in the NCP could have disappeared. They did for me. Not necessarily meaning G-Sync is no longer there; Your findings leads me to believe that your G-Sync is in fact present and "on", but only for full screen mode.
If so, I suggest that you roll back your driver version to no more recent than the 362, using custom and clean install; perhaps also using the DDU to un- and re-install. That worked for me; my G-sync settings in the NCP is back.Last edited: Mar 20, 2016 -

Iffy is a word, pretty shocking is a better description in my opinion. Getting lazy with the lack of competition from AMD, I hope the next round is much closer.
970m capped to 60fps
