    Hi everyone,

I recently got a N5797 from XoticPC and decided to put Windows7 on it. Turns out I didn't like 7 all that much so I decided to go back to Vista64. So after re-installing windows I noticed that the Sager Driver disk said it couldn't find hardware to install video drivers for (step 2). Not a big deal, I just went into display settings and asked to update the driver and chose the directory on the CD and now it says I have a 9800M GTX card. Wonderful!

So, now I'm trying to update drivers so I can do some CUDA programming (I have 176, need at least 177), but the new Forceware 181.22 from LaptopVideo2GO (which redirects me to NVidia's site) also says it can't find any hardware that will use their driver.

Anyone know why drivers can't seem to find my graphics card and how I can fix it?

    Thanks

4 the forceware driver from laptopvideo3go you always need the modded inf file which is posted where the driver is. then unpack the driver in replace the modded inf file with the original.

but i have the same issue with the offcial nvidia mobile beta driver. it tells me no supported hardware found. crazy cause i have a working 9800m gtx in my laptop. but i think its an issue of the beta driver

    greetings from southern germany

Get the WHQL 180.20 driver and then get the modded INF. Do -NOT- forget to grab the modded INF and the replace the original (i always rename the old one "nv4_disp.inf.old"). Remember to driver sweep and all that jazz. After cleaning, run the installer for the 180.20 driver and all should be well!

Note: If you get the modified INF, it will void the WHQL certificate. Doesn't affect how the driver behaves though. Works great for me.

Yeah, it seems that as long as I use the 'Have Disk' method given by LaptopVideo2Go it works just fine. So just start the NVidia installer, but after it's uncompressed all the files just overwrite the .inf file as ettornio said. Then use the 'update driver' option from the display options or device manager.

Well, thanks for the help anyway.
