Hi,
are there any possibilities to overclock this card??
nibitor can't read the clock and riva tuner can't too...
-
use ntune 6.02 here
-
-
-
yes with bios edit..
open nibitor go to device id change it from 060B to 060C save it
and open the bios file with nibitor again now the program will read
bios file like 8800M GTX and you can see clock and all other stuff
change the clocks how you want to be and voltage to 1,05 from 1,00
and before you save it change back device ID: from 060C to 060B
and now you can flash it with higher clocks OVERCLOCK its really very simple -
Interesting!
What is considered a safe overclock for that card, and when do you up the voltage? Just curious, does it bring any gain in performance with a safe overclock? I know, why dont I do it and see for myself, right?
If Im not mistaken, default clocks 499/799/1250. Would it be even worth upping it to 550/900/1400, and if so would you need to add extra heat, I mean extra voltage to keep that overclock stable? -
(But probably more)
After increasing the clocks+the voltage, I am 100% sure that it would produce more heat...I wouldn't OC without a notebook cooler tho. -
Wow!
12000 points are what Im shooting for, that would be awesome! I didnt think the GPU was overclockable, since it never let me overclock. I always get the GPU clock failed, so I didnt bother to do anything further. I think I might try it, or just wait till I get better RAM. But now, Im curious.
Anyway, nice post GanGstaOne!
So what is the limit you can overclock the GPU without upping the voltage? -
can somebody tell me, which clocks run at the 9800m gt with how many volt??
-
Good luck with it though i do love a successfull over clock all the best to ya

i cant overclock the shader with ntune 6.02
-
A normal overclock for that card is upping the 'extra' voltage to 1.05 and the clocks to 600 1500 950. This seems to work well for most people
-
I've already raised my Shader clock to 1500Mhz, and it stays. The Core and Memory give me the invalid changes message. -
-
Overclocking by changing the device id and back for me was not stable. I would wait for NIBITOR to have native support for the 9800GT
-
when i set the shader at only 1300....my notebook becomes a blue screen...i use 177.92
-
-
Ahh...
From Google translate:
"clevo R & D staff told us the 9800 gt better performance than 8800 gtx. Only 9800 gt than 8800 gtx look good in a lot of foreign orders are 9800 gt
Currently 9800 gtx not tested this theory is in m860tu updated version of the machine m865tu with the fx2700 and are using the latest version of the motherboard design to the end of this year in December we will know that this notebook in the end can be on the 9800 gtx the current 2 M860tu m865tu versions are not supported 9800 gtx"
Does this means there is a new version coming in the end of the year!?!?! If that would be true, I would be really pissed off... Two months for my laptop to be outdated!? -
I was runny my old 88mGTX at 640/1600/980 and found it stable with the tiemps never going above 85C Max. Some cards over clock better than others, even if they are the same type.
Remember to keep your Cora:Shader ration to 1:2.5 Ratio. Helps keep things stable. -
, otherwise...
-
I am running 610/945/1525 with 1.05 volts extra with a ZM-NC2000 and i never go above 70 degrees C and its very stable and fast I will upload my bios if anyone wants it
-
Please upload your bios
which temp would you say isn't good for this card?
Can you tell me the command with nvflash? -
-
Well... let's not go too much off topic here.
I think it might be speculation and lots of "lost in translation" information.
Pitty the guy can't speak English...Maybe someone that can speak chinese can get in touch with him and get info!!!
Regarding the OC... How much of advantage does that gives? What's the increase in performance? -
How do you get nibitor to work? I have ver. 4.5 and it wont read my card at all, cant change from 060b. Device id is blank. What should I do?
-
Ok in regards to performance of overclocking the 9800gt I get 4-5 frames in Crysis with everything on high and very high at a 1650 x 1080 resolution which is a huge help. As I stated before I use a notebook cooler and I would recommend you use one if you overclock just to keep everything safe. A safe gpu temp is under 75C but with notebook cooler I stay well under 70C after long game play.
The bios I uploaded is a low voltage bios with 1.05 volts in extra and when using NVflash 5.67 the command is nvflash -5 -6 LV.rom but before you do that make sure you back up you bios by following this tut http://www.overclock.net/nvidia-drivers-overclocking-software/149879-nvidia-bios-flashing.htmlAttached Files:

My FPS might be outstanding, but I have a ways to go to reach 12000 in 3DMARK06. I left room, so who knows?

Hard to keep up with you guys, but I'm trying. -
@kobe.. OCing GPU + CPU on a Clevo M570RU ISN'T STABLE...so it doesn't mean anything.. I reached 11300 but... no stability no party
-
I would believe that, only Im able to play Crysis. Not that I keep it set that high, but if it can play Crysis Im sure it will open up word or surf the internet.
Just because you got 11300 with no stability, it doesnt mean the same for me. Just to let you know, there was one score I never got to post due to instability 11649! But as soon as I tried to copy the darn score, it locked up on me!
Anytime you see I've posted "room left", then that's exactly what I mean. -
As a side note olie showed me how to do all of this so props to him forgot to mention that earlier
-
All of what may I ask?
What are your clocks? Just curious to see what the GT overclocks to? -
Statements like these bring a grown man to tears. (not not exactly - but you know what I mean) -
Hmph, I could care less about the 9800m GTX. So far everyone who has received it felt it wasn't worth the upgrade from the 9800m GT. If something was terribly wrong with this laptop in terms of it blowing up due to heat or something, I would definitely be doing a trade in for that new model when it comes out.
This is where PCMW's trade in policy will be tested and come very much in handy. But I don't see myself using it for the next 3 years anyway. -
How are people accessing the video BIOS files?
I have the Clevo M570TU and as of today, there isn't a BIOS update for
me to play with. Is there a way to extract/save my factory BIOS files to the HDD so that I may edit those? -
-
Hey!
That is cool! I had no idea this could be done...
Now how do I get my modded version written back? -
use nvflash (google it)
-
After reading the directions from the link above, I have a question. Does it backup just the video portion of the system BIOS or a seperate BIOS contained within the GPU? and when flashing the modded rom file, am I writing just the video portion of the system BIOS or is it writing to a BIOS located on the actual GPU card? -
Zenica PM me your yahoo mail address, I will send you the whole instruction and files you will need.
-
PM sent! -
should be there by now.
-
Nirvana...thanks a million.
I OC'd to the recommended 600│1500│950 and I am running the fickle
3DMark06 right now... -
Dämn!, almost 11k and all eye candy turned on and no CPU OC.
Nice.
-
and how much you got before?
-
My best was 9700±
-
My NP8660 will be at my house on Tuesday. I was wondering if someone could PM me instructions on how to overclock my 9800 GT? and could u keep in mind im a complete noob when i comes to overclocking GPUs.
-
With that overclock and that CPU, I wonder why both your SM scores are not over 5k? I would think they both should be well over 5k. -
The CPU is NOT over-clocked. 3DMark06 reports it as 3120MHz but it isn't.
I have the CPU BIOS OC disabled since I OC'd the GPU. I read somewhere that the system might not be stable if I try to OC both the GPU & CPU. -
-
Why? The computer is off right now so no need to rush...and the M570TU offers two options to OC the CPU, x1 or x2. Why is it imperative?
