Are you guys using the latest drivers 177.79 or some other drivers. the driver that came with the video card is 176.02. Is this a really old driver? Any help woud be appreciated.

Everyone pretty much uses different drivers. 176.02 is dated to June i think, so its not that old. Just dl different drivers and test them out for yourself. Every computer reacts differently to different drivers.

    @ auburncoast

I got the same exact set up as you except for the color. So make your review and I'll try to follow it up to make sure there isn't much variation between our systems.

btw, I'm using the latest drivers from laptopvideo2go.com. Going to wait till I get vista to install my stuff, so I can't tell you if theres any diff from stock.

how come it says that I have a different card in 3dmark 06 now instead of my 9800m GT? is that because of the modded gfx driver?

You copy (and overwrite if needed) the modded INF file into the extracted drivers folder.

just installed 177.41 so far it has worked great major performances increases in cod4 and 100 pts more in 3dmark06. UT3 appears to be running smoother to but not as much as cod4.

The very last major section in the inf file lists the readable names for the cards.
You can change this to whatever you want.
Some drivers that are the first to support a card may only have its code name. (G92, ect.)

okay look i got my np5796 today and i am unhappy. first the logo was ripped off when i got it and there where i purchased it, they coll the computer something else instead and second when i started it for the first time the fan made some noise like it was hitting something and stuff , and third the keyboard was not as i expected it, it wasn't kind of solid, instead it moved inn and out specially at the "enter" bottom aria when i press it inn, it moves inn and touch a bottom you can even feel it touching the bottom and then it bounces back when you don't press. and when you hit "enter" just like you normally do, it makes some bad noise. can you guys pleas test your laptop keyboard, the fan i actually had to open up the laptop and fix it ma self and it stop to make noise. so, i just want to know if your keyboard too is just like mine,? or is it solid when you press inn? fourth,,,i don't find any type of driver for the graphic adapter which is nvidia geforce 9800M GT, i of course have tried some drivers but it keep coming up with an error that tel me i don't have the hardware in the laptop lol. thanks guys

    1) you should contact your vendor about any issues with hardware problems or symptoms
    - the fan should not be hitting anything, but that had happened rarely before... so contact them about that
    - the keyboard should be quite solid and secure, if not, then tell them that as well
    - the sticker is just aesthetic, your vendor can just send another one (this is a Clevo M570TU, and every vendor just re-brands it).

With these issues, I recommend to ask your vendor for a replacement unit, which should not cost you anything... since it sounds like a number of rare minor hardware issues

    2) as for drivers, you should first go to your vendor's support/downloads site to get stable and official drivers:
    - Sager's NP5796 drivers
    - Pro-Stars drivers

And if you want more latest drivers, go to laptopvideo2go

Tnx Gophn i've just sent it back for repair now and waiting :). and you know what i even discovered more problem, i dont know if it was ment to be like that, but when i had my headset on and very quite.,...not listning anything, and as soon as i do something, like opning a file or starting a program or just do anything, i hear some low volumed high frequency noice, i mean its like.. i open a file, i hear peeeep and it stops and again i do something else i hear onother tone and i did diffrent tings like restarting and doing som normall stuff just to see.. and it was like many annoying diffrent tones for each and everything i do. but as i sayed it was very low volumed so you wont feel the noise when you listen to music or something. anyway its at the repair i have discribed the problems hope they will fix it. tnx again man.
