I recently checked XoticPC and I noticed that they removed the (ETA: Mid-Late August) from the 9800m GTX config. I then checked Sagernotebooks and I saw this in there news section:

Shipping Now! The world fastest mobile graphics - nVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTX Graphics featuring 1GB GDDR3 Memory now in stock and available for NP9262 and NP5796 series notebook computer.

So for all of us who ordered a notebook with the 9800m GTX... it's coming. :)

    Justin,

I've notice a great deal of confusion here about the capability of the 9800M GTX relative to the 9800M GT, due mostly, I guess, to the unappealing results posted at notebookcheck. If you have some benchmark comparisons available it would surely be helpful if you would post them here.

If Sager offered a 15.4" screen with 1440 x 900 or at least something that won't make me go blind, I would have bought 5 already!!!

nVIDIA 9800M GTX improvements over 9800M GT:

112 compute core vs. 96 compute core

512MB max vs. 1024MB max frame buffer

To correctly show the performances differences ,nVIDIA suggested that we use 3dmark vantage under extreme setting.

    Attached a couple images of the scores for your enjoyment. ;) (1 9800GT & 1 9800GTX)

Based on those results, the 9800m GTX is ~20% more powerful.

Though, I would wait and see how it performs in game. That would really give us a good idea of just how powerful it is.

Any word from Sager as to what the price for the 9800M Gtx would cost. Like an upgrade package that was there for the 8800M GTX

Windows experience doesn't really mean anything in comparison testing. You shouldn't worry about what it says between two cards.

Woohoo! Ordered from Xoticpc on 7/16, whent from Phase 1 to Phase 2. Back to Phase 1 when I requested the Q9650 then today went straight to Phase 4 (shipped)! I thought that it was going to take a another week. Hope the wait has been worth it.

"Intelligently switch gears between performance or battery life with HybridPower™
Turn on the discrete graphics card for extra performance when gaming or watching videos or instantly turn the discrete graphics off and use the GeForce motherboard GPU when you want to add more battery life"

That's what I am most interested in from the GTX. Any body know anything more about it?

Maybe you would need an Nvidia motherboard for it to work. I wonder.

Well that will only work if there is a GPU built into the mobo. And I don't have any idea about that. Yet. Justin could tell *hint hint nudge nudge justin or donald*

This is the whole hybrid sli debate again. NONE OF THE CLEVOS HAVE THIS.

For this to work, you need an nvidia chipset and an nvidia integrated gfx chip.

AFAIK, all the clevos have an intel chipset and any unit that has discrete gfx does not have the integrated as well.

    In short: NO.

so very nice to us isn't he...?

Anybody able to find more detailed info? Its been stated that its a completely new core... I wonder if its 55nm. I sure hope it is! Better OC, less heat, and less power usage.

@Justin: can you confirm what core is in the 9800M GTX, I remembered there was rumor that it uses a new core (G94).

Its not a G94 core. G94 cores are sub 112 shader. The original 8800M GTX was a G92M, and the 9800M GTX is labeled as G94. Justin and a few others have claimed the 9800M GTX to be a brand new core. Since it is 112 shader, it would have to be G92x. I'm trying to get the exact information on this new core, but nobody has anything about it.

Yeah, it’s only an 8 minute test? Would only need the one test for the GTX since we know what the GT can do.
