ok, so i know there are allot of threads disscussing this....
So simply put, how much better is this new 9800m GTX SLI that i had waited "and held my purchase 2 month for"..

not so good? or not worth the extra $s....anyways it is the top of the line now and no more 8800 GTXs, so what do u guys recommend? buy it or wait for the next best thing

I don't mean to seem rude, but... what was said in the many threads discussing this?

I say if you've got the free money, spend it.

Honestly, I do not think it is worth it based on the results others have posted. If I were in the market to buy a gaming laptop, I would be looking very hard at the Sager 5796 or Flextronics W 840 DI (aka OCZ Whitebook). If money is no obstacle, then the 9262 is the way to go.

It pains me to post this because I have always been a fan of Sager but I am trying to be objective as well.

I have 1 9800gtx and so far it rocks everything...Crysis warhead runs like a champ, alll the MMO's i run maxed, spore etc etc..

Not going to lie, if the 5796 had an SLI option i still might have used it cause at some point there will be some game that needs the extra juice...Why not spend $600 more to play 1 or 2 $50 games at max settings.. :)

I think the 9800M GTX in SLi would be the better performer. Although it scores similarly to a 9800M GT in SLi in 3d06 and Vantage, it would show its stuff at higher resolutions. I remember one member on NBR went from the GT SLi to the GTX SLi and noticed smoother gameplay at around 1680x1050 than his former GPU solution.

....it is hard to tell the difference between 9800m gt and GTX since the 3dmark scores are so close.....i had a hard time over come that .......but one interesting thing i noticed using it is that even in some game they show low FPS, it is much more smoother, too smoothe that i feel like it is a bug with the software.......overlord show 13FPS but the game is smoother and fastter than DMC4 which show 24FPS......and all the games i tried are playable at around 20-30FPS(overlord is 13....)......i think the only way to test the difference between 9800m GT sli and GTX sli is for some-pro-tester to have both of them at same time and place with two NP9262 same with everything but graph card........
ps:my graph option for these games are max(highest these game can get)

Well according to 3DMark06, the ATI's perform better, but we have yet to see any true in game performance. That is what really matters, so until someone can start posting some game performance stats...there is no telling which is truely better. In my opinion though, ATI has always been the better cost per performance option...most of the time. They may not perform quite as well but they are a heck of alot cheaper!

I would be happy to show you and others what it can do, and will actually write an extensive review on it. But why not poke this guy because he already has his. I'm sure he can post game benchmarks before the time I get mine.

edit: And he has a better config than me with the processor.

good call! seen his thread, waiting on him to post tomorrow. now we can see some real life user action. these are all we we're looking for. i was on the fence between this one and the np9262, but no user (common users like us) input on how it ran...so i went with the np9262.

well to put it simply its not that much better than 8800 series or the 9800GT. It is a bit faster though. My new config gets the same 3dmark06 score as my old one. I only have crysis installed on the sager and I m waiting for far cry 2. What I can say thought that what benchmarks dont show is the improvement in crysis. GTX SLI is noticeably faster than the GT SLI. It wont be 20fps difference but at least its in 5-10fps level which in crysis is quite noticeable. I tried doing Crysis GPU benchmark but I get an error at the end and I have no results. I did create this video though so at least you can see how fluently Crysis runs on 9262. Heres the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHHbdDqgLIo
That kind of fluency was not achievable with all high details at WSXGA res on the 9800GT SLI. U would have to lower the res down to 1440x900 or change some settings to medium.
    BTW.
This video is before I patched crysis to 1.2 - with this patch game runs even better ;)

haha yes. It takes time to get use to crysis and I m also not in that good "gaming" shape as well as I used to be. I still remember when Counter Strike come out in 99' and that was game. I use to play it all day long. Now recently I ve fired up CS source and I get pretty much raped but some 14 year old kids, calling everyone "film actors guild".
