Ok guys so I had to cancel my order after a week later with Buydirectpc.com for a Sager NP8660 because they finally told me that the 9800m gt was no longer available yet it is still listed on their website. So I placed another order this time with Redbarncomputers.com after talking to somebody over the phone that was pretty confident that they are in stock. This company is base out of New York but they told me that this laptop will be getting shipped out of California from one of the production factories. Wouldn't that be Sager themselves? If it is so then wouldn't I have no luck because Sager themselves discontinued them on their website?

I know you guys are thinking why won't I just get the gts version instead its because I want as much as I can squeeze out of a 15.4" laptop.

You can try Eurocom, they should still have the 9800M GT, additionally, they are willing to price match with American retailers as well.

Ya, I try them next if this place end up not having them either. But my question is does some reseller build the laptops themselves or they all get referred to Sager and get them ship out of there?

    It really depends.

The Clevo importers in North America are Pro-Star, Sager, Eurocom. If I'm not wrong, only Eurocom has the 9800M GT left as an option.

And yes, there are some resellers that actually get their hands on the laptops and assembles them.

Wait, im having some cooling problems with my video card because the temps rise at insane levels and my notebook keyboard has started to pop out... Horror stories which would otherwise make my laptop my treasure. So if I send it in for warranty, does that mean I have to opt for a 9800GTS replacement instead 0-0?!

I have heard that the 9800m gt card is getting a new revision. Perhaps that is why they have stop making them to get the new one in soon. It would be sweet if they replace yours with the new revision 9800m gt card, presuming it will be out by the time they have your laptop back. Otherwise you may be stuck with the 9800m gts replacement, which in all is not bad but a downgrade nevertheless.

It's been discontinued, but manufacturers keep a contingency in stock to cover the warranties for those who need repairs. It's not as if Nvidia has literally blown through all of its 8800GTX/9800GT inventories.

Thanks, I guess I would have to ask powernotebook directly and send it in for warranty as soon the Thanksgiving week hits. Its really annoying to keyboard popping out constantly and gaming with a cooler that has a loose power connection :|.

choosing a 9800 m gts card instead of 9800m gt card it's not actually a downgrade because the performance of the GT is about more with 1% than the GTS. you can see yourselves from the 3dmark06 scores here notebookcheck.com/NVIDIA-GeForce-9800M-GTS.9893.0.html and notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-9800M-GT.9906.0.html that the GT scores with 80 points more than GTS :)

SPs: 64 (GTS) vs 96 (GT) = downgrade.

Yeh, it really sucks that the m15x has the GT and not the 8660. Let's hope the new 8660's can redeem themselves. Because the GTS just doesn't cut it.

i wonder why clevo lost the 9800m GTs... i asume its Alienware/Dell Pulling some strings to get it exclusive..

if this stays the case im sure the new Clevo will have some trick up its sleave GPU wize... perhaps a ATI?

as far as close 3dmark06 scores... (seriously 3dmark06 means nuthing its 2009 almost!)

the Sp's is a huge diference and Modern shader heavy games the diference will be light and day.

Update, PCMicroworks.com still has the 9800m GT in stock. If you want the real performance card, best you get it from them. Don't settle for anything less.

I was gonna order from them but their cheapest blu-ray drive was $650.00 and no option 1333mhz memory  . Hopefully Redbarncomputers.com keep their promise and deliver what I want. :D
