Which mobo does the
Sager NP5793 & 9263 have??
-
I`m not sure what you are asking.
The 5793 uses a mobile mainboard, based off of Santa Rosa.
The 9263 uses the Intel 965 desktop chipset, modified to fit the 17 inch package. -
What I mean is what is the motherboard model Number?
eg: ASUS Striker 2
Gigabyte
etc.
( Thank you ^^) -
You are mistaken if you think that notebooks are using desktop motherboards.
ALL notebooks use a custom/proprietary motherboard that are specifically made for that chassis/model.
In this case, the Sager 9262 and 5793 are using motherboards that were designed manufactured by Clevo.... the ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) of the notebook. -
9263 - did Sager introduce another version of the D901C while I wasn't looking?
-
Hmm, good point Shyster1 .
9263, is that like a 9262 + added support for Extreme quads ?

You know, if it only were that easy.
I`d slap in a good nvidia SLI mobo, and get the fugliest laptop around, but with the best performance yet.
Or get the 9262 and have the same thing -

Here's how you know the D901C motherboard is special.
Which desktop motherboard on the market has a Intel P965 chipset and has SLI.... none to my knowledge.
Clevo did some serious engineering and designing to have a P965 Northbridge and have an Nvidia bridge for SLI support.
Thats just awesome.
Even desktop owners and enthusiasts would like an Intel board with SLI... rather than Crossfire... because Intel chipsets seem to have better stability for future updates and support for new CPUs.
