I need to receive it still but this was the description.... Seems to have been copied and pasted from the original advertisement... I hope I don't have to copy and paste

    (
    Hi,

Selling this ultimate gaming machine, unfortunately in non working condition. When you press power button lights goes on, you can hear fans but nothing is displayed on screen. Battery surely holds charge as it can be powered on it, screen looks undamaged. There are no traces of liquid damage. There are few cosmetic issues like small crack on right side of laptop and scratch on screen lid (please take a close look at photos, you're looking at the actual item you are going to get).
With removed components laptop does not start at all.

New laptop price starts around 2200GBP and goes up depending on configuration and it's still compatible with most powerful graphic cards available at the moment.

    Comes without:
    - HDD/SSD, CPU, Graphic card, RAM and charger

Selling strictly as broken, for parts or repairs, no returns accepted!

Item will be posted from Croatia, shipping only to UK!
Shipping with priority trackable air mail, estimated delivery usually less than a week!
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

    Thanks for watching!

This should have been a red flag
Probably going to be hard to repair.

If the motherboard is ok I'm good to go ... The seller said it looks like the GPU was dead ..let's hope it's just that because I have plenty of GPU'S .

Good luck, inspect it before inserting any of your own hardware.

it's not unlikely, but it could easily be the motherboard that destroys GPU's, so be careful.

Have to agree with some of the above comments. It's seems pretty strange that they will only ship to a UK address, is this because it's got a UK keyboard? Plus, considering the number of parts that are missing; CPU is possibly understandable, no GPU does suggest it originally had a dead GPU but it could also easilly suggest that the previous owner sold all the parts which were functioning including the GPU, so it could well have a faulty MB. No PSU is pretty strange. If you're prepared to spend the time and money on it (we don't know what the sale price is) then ok, but you're already at an extra £90 or so for a PSU, then if the MB is dead it's adding another £200 if it needs replacing.

"With removed components laptop does not start at all." - so with components (CPU, GPU, RAM which we assume? have been varified to function independantly) the laptop powers on but no picture - then why have the other components been taken out and sold separately? Again this would suggest to me that the GPU they used to test it works, but the chassis has a problem. You should ask if the other copmonents (RAM, CPU, GPU) which aren't included in the sale are all functioning or not. Physical damage to the chassis could in the worst case suggest damage to the MB, microfractures etc. Finally, you don't know if it works with a PSU connected which could mean either PSU connection fix/replacement or MB replacement.

From what the seller messaged me was that the GPU is available at a extra cost but he thinks it has been attempted reflow ( this makes me hopefull as I have many cards available ) the power supply he wants to sell separate to as he thinks it's worth a bit ..but I have many 330w CLEVO/MSI bricks ... I just hope it's not the motherboard .. I'm happy to buy a i7 6700k as I have all the rest ...

When he says with all components in the system lights up and fans spin then I just hope it's GPU that's dead ...can't wait for it to land ( I think the original seller was from the UK but I need to investigate.. that was a strange part of the advert

Shipping in the UK is fairly cheap compared to outside and going outside can make people nervous.

If everything comes on and stays on but no image, might also be RAM. But something about the wording seems fishy to me.

It's in Croatia at the moment but seller will only ship to the UK, hence pretty weird.

QWERTZ German language keyboard on those photos.

So I decided the laptop today .. the issue is the LGA1151 socket has some bent pins ( none look snapped ) but I need to take a closer look

Is a magnifying glass the best thing to use .?

If you've got one that is hands free, probably.

A steady hand can bend pins back but the metal will fatigue and snap very easily if you bend it back and forth.

Agreed that a hands free magnifying glass really helps with this, especially the adjustable/clamp-on ones with lighting.

There are places that may be able to replace the socket on the existing board.

Possibly, but if the pins are bent manually its unlikely to be linked to something else.
