1. Does the performance of gtx 280m justify its price compared to 260m?
2. Is it refundable?(I can't find their return policy)
3. Is 0 dead pixel guarantee($200) worth the money? I mean how often does it happen?
4. $265 extra for 9800M GTX instead of GTX 280M? Am I missing something?!
5. Can I order a spare ac adapter/battery later in case they are broken?
6. Is it possible replace hdd with ssd from another website when the price goes down?
-
1) Only you can decide
2) Yes within first 30 days
3) Only you can decide
4) GTX280M is better. Period.
5) Yes you can.
6) Yes you can. -
Ok. But I still don't see why I have to pay more for 9800m gtx?
-
Because everyone is moving to the 280m GTX and therefore the older model card is now considered "special order" if you want to look at it that way.
The laptop kits are largely preassembled, so it's also extra work to install it for you. -

Like Nirvana said, the GTX 280M is better. You pay less for more performance. Grand deal. Everyone is happy. End of story.

If you have even a single dead pixel and you've paid for the $200 insurance sager will pay for 3 day shipping both days. Presumably if the replacement unit has dead pixels you can ship that one back for free etc.
(personally I don't think it's worth it)
xoticpc has a nice writeup of dead pixels and their policy here

Thanks for the link. That saves me $200.
Ok, so it's gonna cost me $790 more for 160gb intel ssd. I want to go with the default hdd and stick this in instead:

Looks cheaper & better, but is there a catch? -
While I personally wouldn't buy any computer without an SSD I think many people would recommend waiting on buying an SSD until price/GB comes down.
I do think you would be happy with the Samsung unlike some of the SSD brands out there.
For the record though the Samsung is bigger and cheaper but not better. The intel has better performance and lower power draw (less heat, slightly longer battery) then the samsung

So you COULD go with a platter drive and wait 6 months and most likely pay half for that same drive. (I wouldn't but I think most people would) -
Holy...that's a huge difference. Thanks a lot for the info. I guess I'll wait and see.
-
Whether or not you get a SSD is up to you, personally I love mine but it's a large expense at this point in time. -
I'm in agreement. The price point range for the SSDs are the real stickler for me, and I wish that the cost would take a swan dive, but it's seeming unlikely this year.
