Ok, so these are probably n00b questions, but this is my first laptop so please bear with me! ;)

    1. How do you "right click" using the touch pad? I thought it was CTRL+click(tap), but that doesn't seem to work.

    2. Are there better programs/utilities for using the webcam than what came with the computer? Default program is called BisonCam. Or should I even bother with the built in webcam?

    3. If I leave a CD/DVD in the drive, will that drain power/resources?

    4. Are there any recommended guides/websites for tweaking XP and/or power management to maximize battery life when needed?

    Thanks! :D

    :p

    3. well, if you go to my computer with a cd in place, usually windows will run the drive, which will drain your battery

    4. you're looking at one of those sites, check out the tips and tweaks guide here

    5. ignore terry

    6. yes it can run crysis - big deal

Tell me you just converted from Mac? Aren't there two buttons right below the touchpad? The left one for left click and the right one for right click?

Nope, no buttons. The only thing right below the touchpad is the finger print reader. :(

The M860TU's button are there, on each side of the fingerprint reader. They sit completely flush with the touchpad.

HAHA!! Thanks Kevin! It doesn't even look like there are buttons there! You actually have to PUSH on them, instead of the tap like on the touch pad! DOH!!!

BTW, sent you a PM with those drivers Kevin.

It might seem silly, but I made the same mistake when I first unboxed mine. I had a full thirty seconds of "!?", before I noticed.

    Hey there,

Curious about the noise level of the 8662. I'm planning on replacing my laptop in the coming weeks (a D900t in its death throws) and one of my primary concerns about getting another bleeding edge performing laptop is the db level (though I think all laptops would be quieter than the D900t). Would appreciate it if any 8662 owners would offer up some of their opinions.

Well since this is my first laptop, I don't really have much to compare it too, but I hardly notice any noise from it while doing normal day-to-day stuff. Going to install Crysis tonight and see if it starts squeeling! ;)

sorry, it might sound hillarious or stupid. but, how to run the benchmark? I really have no idea. I received my sager last 2 weeks, but haven't run the benchmark. Help please.

    Thx

All you do is you download and install any of the following:
    - 3DMark06
    - 3DMark Vantage .... requires Vista
    - PCMark05
    - PCMark Vantage .... requires Vista

Then you just leave everything default and run the benchmark tests.

With your results, you can use them to compare the performance of your system to another system
..... and it would be nice if you can post your results as well.

    Other benchmarks:
    - wPrime ... for CPU benchmarking; no installation required
    - The Last Remnant Benchmark ... a Unreal Engine 3 benchmark; no installation required
.... and the others found in (most of which will require you to have the game):
