I am pretty well set on getting the 2090 but before I order one I have a few questions. First one is, will I be able to get it before August 17th? I have to leave for school on the 24th and want to get it a few days before then, will there be enough around by then? And also would it be better to get the 1280x800 or the 1680x1050? I've always been a desktop gamer and haven't had a widescreen monitor and I know that 1680x1050 is technically better but is it worth the upgrade or should I go with the lower resolution since the screen is only 15.4 inches?

Unless you actually play games on a desktop PC with a 15" or 17" LCD at really high resolutions (more than 1280x1024), I say don't bother with 1680x1050 resolution for a laptop.

In terms of whether you can get a Sager NP2090 (or any laptop based off Compal IFL90 for that matter) by mid August, depends on the exact config you want and when you actually order. You should call or e-mail resellers and ask them (Powernotebooks.com and xoticpc.com are two good choices).

In general, there is a longer wait time on the WSXGA+ (1680x1050) laptops due to supply issues with Compal. This issue has been covered in many other threads.
