I just received a Sager NP6370 in the mail. I plug in the psu, turn it on ... everything lights up except the screen.
Now what? Is there a button somewhere I"m not finding or is it DOA?

    Try without the PSU?

I assume you ordered the laptop with two Nvidia GTX680m cards in SLI (or two 670m)?
    Tell us your specs.

It might be that the SLI connection is loose. If thats the case, you can check it yourself.
    Send us your config details!

try Fn + F2 key. this turns backlite off and then press any other key just in case its stuck.
Fn + F7 is display toggle
Fn + F9 is increase brightness

you shouldnt have to do any of these though as its new. only other thing i can think of is maybe the screen ribbon has worked lose in transit but then you would have to remove the keyboard i think to see if its lose.

other thing to try is remove mains and battery and hold mains power button down for 20 seconds and then just try booting with battery and if that doesnt work remove battery and try booting with mains only.

if you do decide to remove the keyboard you could remove the cmos battery to see if a reset will work.

these are only guesses as it should work first time out of the box.

Thx .. none of this did anything. ( I did not mess with the keyboard)
When I turn on the pc there only things that happen are the power button light comes on, the VGA button lights up .. the speedometer below the vga button lights up and the wifi let lights up.

There are no system sounds @ all
Screen doesn't even try to power on
I can hear the fan running if I hold the bottom of the laptop up to my ear

Its a damn shame to, I was looking forward to transitioning over to sager and the first damn one I get to test is doa.

might be worth removing the baseplate just to check the ram is seated correctly and also the hard drive is not lose at all.
sadly next thing is to get onto support at sager to get a rma back to base. hopefully they will be working monday even though its new years eve.

    good luck.

One of the modules might be under the keyboard :) The laptop has 2 slots. Two on the back and one under the keyboard.

If you have an external monitor - hook it up trough the VGA out and try booting.
Other than that - contact Sager about this.

Could just be a loose or not connected LCD cable. If you're so inclined open up and see if you can locate the LCD flat connector. It may not be exposed, if not I would send it back for fix/new one.

Yeah, I was going to get the instructions for it and look under the keyboard for the lcd ribbon. Since I've been feeling bad I haven't wanted to do it and then today I was hospitalized all day (pneumonia and influenza) I'm not gonna mess with it. I called Larry at lpc and he said all will be taken care of.

    Thx for the info guys.

I wish you a speedy recovery! Be sure to rest a lot and stay away from the PC while you are ill. PC's are not helping in recuperating from illnesses (at all).

I may have glossed over it, but did you attempt to remove the battery and AC adapter, and then plug one - or both - back in, and then power the unit on? It may very well be the video cable not seated correctly as already suggested, but if that's the case, I would advise sending it in for them to take care of, since it should not have been shipped with a loose or faulty cable or dead screen.

    Hopefully you recover soon!

Prostar : Yeah, I tried all you suggested. Was a no go. Larry over @ LPC instantly sent me a RMA with shipping label. It should be back and on its way back soon. Sry for not answering, I had the flu and pneumonia, then my wife got the flu. We are recovering quite well now, wife is fine and I'm still hacking a bit trying to clear my lungs out.
I would likely have fixed it myself had I not been so sick, I enjoy working on computers.

Thx for all the replies and suggestions folks, much appreciated

Maybe it was something along with whooping cough?

Hope you get to 100% soon though, same for your machine :)

If you press Ctrl + Alt + Del a couple of times, your immune system should reboot. :p

Glad to hear you two are on the mend at least. Hopefully your laptop is well also!
