I'm not exactly sure if this is the right place but I posted this in the "general: help" area and someone said to post it here as I might get a better response.

So I bought a slightly customized (only processor and video card, not a carbon fiber case or anything) Sager NP9150...

Now, almost 2 weeks ago, (this is tuesday, and I ordered it two weeks ago, but they confirmed the payment on thursday.) I confirmed the order.

They said it would be around 5-12 days, and when I checked the Phase today it was only on Phase 2. (construction/testing).

Should I be concerned, because I would expect the phase to be on 3 or 4 by now, since there are only 2 days left until it has been two weeks... (The employee who called me said it would take a total of around 2 weeks).

Very specific question I know, so don't be afraid to say I don't know :p

    Also...what?

To answer your other questions, I'm not sure, but I think you may have ordered the 7970m, correct? If you have, then you should have been told that it is backordered because of a faulty batch. Clearly not XOTICPC's fault, and you should be in contact with them more often. Don't be afraid to pester them with emails and/or call them, their service is top-notch. You may have to wait a little longer, I'm afraid, perhaps a few days more.

    hi Trench222,
I'll be happy to look into your order status. Can you send me a PM with your order number. By the times you've posted it does look like you're right on track. Keep in mind business days dont count weekends or last Monday which was Memorial day. If the order and payment was just confirmed on Thursday we're only on two business days so far.

As Mr. Mysterious mentioned dont hesitate to ask us. Feel free to contact me of if you have someone you've been working with shoot him an email too.

I don't really know how their whole "phase" stuff works-- but I can tell you this--

I ordered an NP9130, they were sorta slow to bump it into phase 2, and then sorta slow to get it into the 'building' phase (phase 3 i guess?), but then to my suprise, the thing just about showed up on my door one day almost unexpected. i don't know if the email got delayed or it was UPS or what not, but as soon as it hit the building phase, it showed up about a week later (maybe less).

all in all, it was much faster than i had anticipated. but like the previous posters have said, i'd call them and bug them about it.

Keep in mind this is a brand new series with new tech and everything. It's quite popular so they have to deal with a LOT of customers. They'll still take care of you, though.

It's MUCH faster in the middle of series, when the clamoring has died down. It's like going out to dinner at 6pm: It's going to be packed full, and your service will vary. But if you go at 8pm, then you're getting a much better deal.

Also custom laptops take longer. If you want fast, there are options for that like MSI, Asus, and Lenovo. They sell preconfiged systems to places like Amazon. You find a system they have in stock and it is literally sitting in a box ready to go, so you could order one now, and have it Thursday.

The disadvantage is, of course, you get what you get. The system is sitting in a box so there is no changing anything, you either like it or leave it.

Sager is like Dell in that all systems are CTO, they don't have them sitting around ready, they have parts and when somebody buys something they assemble a system. That is always going to take some time.

Also if you did order a 7970M then as other mentioned, you are going to be waiting. Those all went back for testing and nobody knows when they'll be back in stock.
