I have a question concerning battery life on the 9390 SLI 780M model. Let's say I want to do normal processes such as typing up some notes in class on Microsoft Word. Since SLI doesn't support Optimus technology (or the other way around, I mix that up sometimes), is there a way to manually switch from the dual SLI 780M's to the built-in graphics processor of the 4th gen Haswell CPU?

Are you trying to say you want to buy a 9390 FOR CLASS?!

Don't even do it. Unless you want to buy a sh!tton of spare batteries (that are fully charged, every one of them), and pop them in during class. Don't forget, you need to restart your computer every time you do this.
