As the title says, how would you remove the lid text? I saw a post to use a hair dryer, but that was in 2011, and who knows? The branding might have been changed. I'm going to remove it on the Sager NP7258, bought straight from the Sager site.

Just did it an hour ago on a NP8657.

My vendor recommended that I remove the LCD panel from the lid, use a hair dryer on the panel to heat up the sticker, and then pick it off without using chemicals or sharp objects to scratch it.

It took quite a while, if you're going to try this method I would suggest you heat up the panel constantly (with lcd removed) while scratching at it with nails or a plastic card. The sticker was quite solid so it was easiest to just heat it up until the glue practically melted and the text could be shifted around.

Yes if applying heat do remove the LCD screen first to avoid damage, also be aware of the warranty implications of undertaking work like this. Any damage caused would not be covered.

Thanks! Though, how would I remove the LCD screen?

I'll think about the warranty, thanks for bringing that to my attention. :)

You can watch HTWingNut's video on the NP8651 where he upgraded the display panel. Should be the same process, though the screws and places to pry may be a little different.
