Just checked event log and got flummoxed.

    ID 13

: The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS. In some situations, this error may cause the computer to function incorrectly.

    ID 15

: The embedded controller (EC) returned data when none was requested. The BIOS might be trying to access the EC without synchronizing with the operating system. This data will be ignored. No further action is necessary; however, you should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS.

    I'm running Win 7 64-bit. Crucial C300 SSD.

    What's wrong? :O

I'm on the same bios rev but on the generic Clevo EC 1.00.04.

Not seeing these errors but maybe someone with the same EC rev as you is?

Contemplating to update them to the latest versions.
You think it's worth a try?

You can give that a try but I caution you on switching to the generic Clevo bios on the grounds that I personally had issues going back to a Sager bios afterwards, I don't think theres that big of risk but there is potential for mismatching bios and EC firmware if/when you do switch back to Sager.

The Clevo bios also has a default "StyleNote" splash, not the Sager splash though thats obviously of less concern than the function.

I don't know... Flashed it with the latest Clevo BIOS and EC. Went like a breeze - no errors. Booted up from the first try. No noticeable changes - still getting those errors in Event Log. Doesn't really affect performance, just bothering.

I wonder if it's some hardware level quirk then, definitely more of an odd one but at least apparently not destructive.
