    Hi guys.

I'm suffering with this acpi error when i start playing bf bad company2. I installed this game on Wednesday and I was able to play it for about two hours before first crash.
After first crash the game will start as it should but after 3 minutes it crashes. Errors does not appear on the screen but when i go to event control i can see a new error. It looks like this:

    HTML:

I have installed the latest drivers. I'm not sure whether the latest version of bios, but I have not had any problems with it before this and I've been able to play bf3, fc3 etc. completely through.
I logged GPU temps while playing and they did not rise above 75 ° C.

Has anyone else experienced this? if you have some sort of solution to this please tell me.

My laptop is clevo p170em with radeon 7970m, i7-3740qm, 2x8gb ram. Bios 1.02.14 and EC 1.02.12.

Sorry, i don't get bsod. The game just shuts down without any error-message, Only way to see what happened is to go to the windows event viewer. And this happens every time three minutes after start..

Then it does sound like a thermal issue. The 75C you mentioned is fine though. Have you done the normal steps incase it was overheating like opening up the bottom of the computer and taking a can of compressed air to clean out any dust that has built up in vents and fans. Thats the #1 cause for overheating. Also make sure you're using it on a flat surface like a desk, never on carpet or a bed where you're blocking the intake vents.

Oh yes i have done that. But this is somehow very weird, because I am able to run the stress tests with ease through without any problems. Furmark for example, temperatures rose during the test to 90 ° C, but always when temperatures rose to 90 degrees fans increased the power so much that the temperature dropped to 80 degrees. I tried Far Cry3 again and it worked properly, without crashing..

edit: I tried that i start the game but not moving anywhere AND game did not crash. But after i started to move in the map, game crashed three minutes later. So it have to be something with that game..

Its pointing towards the game itself. Try uninstalling and re installing it?

You think so? Hmm, I don't see this as a thermal problem, given the following from OP:

I don't think he meant the system turns off - just the game crashes (exits to desktop, I'm guessing?). Also:

Of course there's always room for error with software monitoring of temps - especially if the PCH or other components are faulty.

OP - I agree with Hutsady in that you should try uninstalling the game and then reinstall it. If you can play BF 2's predecessor and Far Cry 3 - which are more demanding games - without crashes, then it most likely is related to program files. Have you tried running the game in windowed mode as well to see if you still get the crash?

Good point Prostar, I think i just assumed crash was computer crash and not just game crash back to desktop

Ah no worries Hutsady! Totally understandable. Have yourself a good weekend and keep up the good work!

@OP I hope you're able to find a viable fix soon. Hopefully it doesn't come to reinstallation, but sometimes that's what it takes. Best of luck!
