I am not sure if it is enabled by the default software of the 9800m GTX on the 9262, but i downloaded from the crysis game CD.
Anyways, i dont think it is enabled? How can you check that?
-
i was looking on the nvidia's website, they only have drivers for the 8800m GTX at the latest, very strange, and in the support list of physx it does not include the mobile chips????
I just got the computer and the 9800m GTX says it has the 7.15.11.7609 driver version on date of 7/3/2008.
I dont think physx is enabled, i downloaded from a game , but reset phys card option is whitened.
The driver i have, pre-installed on the computer is working great, and everything is running smooth , so i am afraid to play with it especially since i dont see any auto updates or any 9800m gtx drivers on nvidia website -
you will need something like 178.whatever and up to have physx and sli enabled for gaming

Anyways i looked at the nvidia's page http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us , u will notice that for Product Type Geforce M, there is only drivers for 8800 GTX....very strange, i dont know if ive got the latest version, the 9800m GTX says it has the 7.15.11.7609 driver version on date of 7/3/2008.
I'm not going to mess around with drivers especially with win-vista 64 unless im pretty sure what im doing...
anyways the laptop is running really nice, just have some problems with the drivers for the creative soundblaster 5.1 X-fi usb -
drivers don't work like that....
you'll have to read up on the lastest video drivers, because they change like every other week. -
You'll need to learn that us mobile guys have to go through the modded drivers of laptopvideo2go for the latest gear.
I'll leave it up to one of the other GTX users to tell you what's best for your card. -
you can mod any driver out just by adding two lines of code. i usually do. saves from having a bunch of errors and problems later. although these 180.43 seem to be working pretty good.

Go to laptopvideo2go and get some newer graphics card drivers and the separate physics software.
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?&showforum=95
Some of the new drivers have physics installers included but I'd still check that section at LV2go every time you upgrade drivers/every few weeks. -
i just get the laptop not too excited on putting drivers i dont know where there from..... by the way who supports and writes the drivers for laptopvideo2go???? -
A guy from New Zealand actually makes the mod INFs. (his name is Pieter, he goes by mobilenvidia on a few forums)
At laptopvideo2go we don't actually "hack" the drivers or anything funny like that.
We just add the cards into the INF file, and a few extra laptop tweaks that sometimes might be needed on some laptops for standby, powermizer, ect.
All the INF does is tell the drivers how to install.
A desktop driver normally can't install on a laptop card because the laptop card isn't listed in its INF file. We fix that problem, and more, at laptopvideo2go.
I'm one of the long standing mods there so fell free to ask me any questions.
We have longer FAQ topics about this stuff but its pretty simple. Just download and unpack the driver, replace the INF with the modded one, and your good to go.
You can even get your drivers from nvidia and use them with a mod INF but LV2Go packs them better and they don't try to auto install themselves either. LV2Go also has the best driver selection out there.
Some of our users also make custom INFs like Dox, who also posts here. (I used to make/help make custom drivers for Dell laptops ages ago, but don't have the time anymore)
If you want to blaim anybody for the poor official driver support, blame all the various laptop manufacturers like Dell for all using proprietary laptop graphics cards that are all different from each other. Clevo is better in that their cards are more standardized among most of the Clevo laptops.
There was MXM that nvidia created to try to fix the problem, but most of the "well known" venders like Dell didn't support it. The D901C does have proper MXM type IV support. Some laptop venders are sneaky and use cards that look like MXM cards, but actually aren't.
Since Nvidia created MXM themselves to fix the problem, and ATI tried to create something similar, you can't really blame either company for the laptop driver mess, IMO.
From what I have seen at LV2go, Clevo laptops with MXM cards usually have much less problems with new drivers than Dells and other laptops, so you shouldn't worry about upgrading unless its a really beta/alpha driver. -

I did asked Nvidia support about this and got this from there site:
NVIDIA provides driver updates to our Notebook and Laptop computer partners. The driver updates are then packaged and distributed by the partners, often with custom power management and other features and settings specific to that platform. NVIDIA does not control the schedule the various notebook and laptop providers use to release new drivers for their products.
NVIDIA is NOT allowed to directly distribute drivers for the vast majority of Notebook and Laptop computers.
The only way to get updates for NVIDIA laptop or notebook graphics cards is though the notebook provider.
so i wonder why sager are not updating the driver to support the phys-X -
Sager doesn't control the ageia physics drivers, in fact the physics drivers are independent of the graphics card drivers and hardware.
All the nvidia physics does is allow ageia physics commands to run through Cuda using pixel shaders, it even runs on ATI cards with a few small modifications.
I think nvidia is going towards incorporating physics drivers fully into the graphics card drivers, but it hasn't happened yet.
As of right now whether you have a modded/updated driver or not, you can download Ageia physics directly from nvidia and it will install on your laptop.
But you need recent drivers (and a GF 8/9/GTX/future series) to use the Geforce acceleration, because of Cuda.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/cuda_learn_products.html (these are all supported)
Without up to date drivers or a supported card, you will only have software physx support. -
and understand this...physx does not make your gpu faster! your cpu..yes, gpu no.
AGEIA Phys.X on 9262
