I have replaced the dead v5.0 motherboard in my D901C with a new v.6.1 (?) motherboard. When I originally installed Vista x64 with the previous mb I had turned on AHCI, installed the Intel Matrix stuff, and everything worked. With the new mb I turned on AHCI with the new mb and was unable to boot from my previous hard drive (black screen, blinking cursor.) I put a new hard drive in the SATA1 slot and installed Vista x64 all over again. It now boots some of the time, and other times I get the black screen on boot again... what makes it even wackier is that if I put the Vista disc back in and reboot it WILL boot from the hard drive (I get the "hit any key to boot from disc" message and just ignore it.) Has anyone else run into this, and is there a solution (BIOS update, driver update, percussive maintenance, etc.) or am I doing something completely stupid?

Mine will do that after restart sometimes. I've never been able to figure out why. I have to do a shutdown and then start.
