Finally, after tweeting CatalystCreator and complaining on Guru3D and Overclock.net, AMD decided it would be prudent to provide drivers for mobile users.
Still no headway with bringing 7970M to what we expected back in May 2012 when we pre-ordered them. And still no headway with the memory controller rewrite. No announcement of GCN 2.0 HD8K desktop and fact that HD8KM are all HD7KM rebrands is an admission from AMD that GCN drivers are still not complete/fixed.

Ive currently had to rebuld my Clevo P170EM because I screwed up the ATI driver installs. Could anyone advise whats the best way to install this beta?
TO get to a stable setting I did:
Installed Win 7
Installed latest HD 4000 drivers
Installed the 7970 Clevo drivers from thier site
Installed the 13.1 AMD drivers.
Everything seems to be fine now (FC3 running at avg 45FPS in max settings) but want to get these beta drivers on if it offers a perfomance boost but just a bit sceptical of screwing up again -
so can we install this driver normal without any errors?
-
i dont think we hm users have to worry about anything johnny

Anyone know if this iteration solves the issues with Far Cry 3 artifacts/crashing or AC 3 performance/crashing?
-
-
Ok i bit the bullet and attempted to install them:
Removed all ATI installs
Installed Clevo 7970 drivers
Installed Mobilty 13.3 beta
Worked PerfectlyFC3 fps have gone through the roof, now getting ful llocked 60fps (vsync) with max settings, havent seen any crashing or weird artifacts. Crysis 3 bumped up by about 20%. Much improved and seem very stable for me.
-
so far they are working good!!no problems here!!
-
how is bf3 with this driver? After the end game patch the utilization problem got back.
-
13.1 has been good to me. I want to try these with Bioshock coming soon.
Anyone have the link to the latest Intel drivers? -
-
Awesome news! Thanks.

I installed these new drivers over the stock clevo AMD drivers and was playing BF3 64 player in canal. Was getting approximately 45-60 fps through out the game and utilization was around 65-85%.
-
Im using NP9370, which one should I download? And should I just install or remove all ATI drivers, softwares first?
-
Heads up! The new driver does fix most of the Far Cry 3 issues for me, but not Dx11 issues. Also, AC 3 will no longer play for me, at all. I used to be able to play a few minutes between crashes, but now I can't play more than 20 seconds without a crash.

For those of you asking about the install, all I did was install over the old drivers. I didn't uninstall, no driver sweeper, no intel drivers installed. Just a straight install over the old drivers, and no problems.

That's usually the first way you should try

I just uninstalled my 13.2 beta 6 drivers

Also GCN 2.0 wont be out until next year (for availability) much like Nvidia so we will see some 1.1 refreshes like the desktop 7790 but no 8000 series until then. -
try to just install the new ones over the old ones first, as mentioned above.

This driver is not just working for me. First I missed out on a couple of points. Like for example installing it over the original. (not Stated on the drivers download page. Or I did not see them)
I went ahead and did that after messing it up the first time. After I installed the original drivers, catalyst wouldnt work. It wouldn't open and would crash during startup. Taking along all my widgets.. =( So, I just went back to 13.2 beta 6. Seems the best driver for me. But I would very much like to play FC3 in 60 fps. I'm getting tired of this enduro crap.. =(
This may well be my first and last AMD purchase.. =( -
Well my method of installation is very simple. Here is what I did after a clean install of Windows 8.
1/ Install Intel chipset driver (I'm not sure if it changes something, but I always install it first)
2/ Install latest Intel driver (get on Intel website by using the auto detect tool, the same for chipset driver)
3/ Install latest AMD driver
4/ Install other drivers
Then everything works fine as it should be. Each time I want to install a new AMD driver, I just do as below:
1/ Uninstall completely the current driver, by using the AMD Catalyst Install Manager in the Add/Remove Programs. Choose the last option and it will do all the work for you. Reboot.
2/ Uninstall Intel driver. Reboot.
3/ Reinstall Intel driver. Reboot.
4/ Install new AMD driver. Reboot.
Above is what I have done since the WHQL 13.1 driver came out, and I have never had any problem with the AMD driver so far. Hope it help
