Hello all, my amd 6990m died today, it had a good run and even bought a couple more months with the oven method, however now I'm in the market to replace it, all i know is the 7970m v1.2 is an option since i have a sager NP8170. My real question is what are my other options and where can i get them? preferably one that isn't too expensive since i will probably use this laptop for maybe 2 more years. I live in the US if that helps.
    Thanks in advanced. :)

7970M will probably give you the best "bang for your buck." You have the 600M series available to you, though it can be more costly.

well it seems its hard to find the right 7970m for sale i did however find a couple of 680m's. Now can i use it considering i currently have an amd card in my system?
