Anyway I called Sager trying to get a 7970m for my p170hm and they told me its not available. I asked for them to send me an EM version and ill flash the vbios and they told me they changed the hardware on the card?

I also saw one reseller remove the hm versions also, does anybody know about this? Is this true or are they just trying to not be bothered?

Anyone recently buy an EM version 7970m flash it and have it work?

    Thanks

They simply want you to buy a new laptop, not to upgrade the old one. :)
I bought a 7970M EM last year, blind-flashed it and made it work in an MSI GX740 with no problems.
I find it hard to believe that Clevo would change the hardware on 7970M cards, especially that these cards are EOL now, as 8970M is out.
