I installed 11.10 previously and had serious issues while playing BF3.
Reverted back to 11.9 to resolve it.

Let me try this 11.11 and feedback to you guys later.

quick question....this is the first time I've owned an ati card (HD 6990) and just got my new p170hm a couple of days ago.
So when i go do the new drivers install as outlined by WhatsThePoint, I found 2 different inf files under the unpacked display>drivers folder...one is C7127490.inf and the other is CH127490.inf....so which one do I pick to install the driver, or does it even matter?

    thanks

    @WhatsThePoint:

I dont have that "WDM" folder in my unpacked download.....this dir is the only place in the unpack that has inf files.....

    "11-10_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl\Packages\Drivers\Display\W76A_INF"

maybe not the right package?....just clicked on the "Catalyst Software Suite" link on the amd site....let me know if I'm getting the wrong thing.

kinda confusing...at least to me....I;m used to the nvidia forceware w/ one inf straight in the root dir of the unpacked driver...

    thanks for the help

The 11-11_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe I downloaded from guru3d.com unpacks with a packages folder that has 2 sub folders;they are Apps and Drivers.

The Drivers folder also has 2 sub folders:they are Display and WDM(Windows Driver Model)
Inthe WDM folder is a folder named HDMICE
    HDMICE has 2 sub folders;they are LH64a and W764a
    W764a has AtihdW76.inf

    If you only have:
    Display folder>
    W76A.inf folder has 2 inf files>
    C7128243.inf is for Windows 7 x64
    CH128243.inf is for Vista x64

thanks for the reply....the 11-11_vista64_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe I downloaded from ati's site is a bit different. It doesnt have a WDM folder or the rest of the subfolders it shows and its contents.
Only a Display>W76A_INF and the two infs I pointed out.....I see about the C7128243.inf.....I have win7 64bit, so I'll go ahead and use that one.

another quick question...is it a good idea to use driver sweeper to clean up the old driver w/ ati cards?....I used to do that sometimes for nvdia ones....dont know if it's a good cleanup routine to do for ati drivers in general as well...

For some unknown reasons, both 11.10 and 11.11 drivers like to screw around with my BF3.

As of now, I am staying with 11.9 drivers.

Now in NVIDIA drivers under Custom Installation there's a checkbox to completely remove the old driver prior to the new version being installed.

I don't use Driver Sweeper anymore;it sometimes removes more than it should.

I use the Your Uninstaller program to remove drivers and programs.

When I want something completely removed I choose the highest removal setting in the "Your Uninstaller" program that first uses the uninstall freature thats built into programs. Then when that finishes it will ask if I want to reboot;I decline the reboot and then Your Uninstaller will remove any file fragments and registry left behind by the softwares built-in uninstaller.

    Then I'll reboot.

I've recently used this Your Uninstaller max uninstall method to clean my system of the Bigfoot Killer driver update and revert back to the unmodded v183 released on July 15th that worked best for me.

I highly recommend a good uninstaller program.

The free Revo Uninstaller often doesn't find and list some files.
