- Official AMD link, not Guru3D or some other third party mirror.
The changelog is not up yet. Will post later when it is.
Changelog link when it's updated, check later
-
I'm looking forward to the release notes.
-
I think this is the one where the latency fix is introduced ! Installing.
-
Looking forward to this. Just learned that the post "had tried" delivering my 7970M this morning so I should be able to pick it up by tomorrow the latest.
-
We will see. That would be nice.
-
Wow, many people say that this driver completely fixes skyrim microstuttering and that BF3 is working even better. Downloading now.
-
looks like its time to update from beta 3 then
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2 -
Nothing worth the update in my opinion.
-
Changelogs be damned. I'm trying this one. Thanks, OP!
-
I cant overcloock after this update :/
And yes I put atipdlxx.dll file in. And yes I enabled overclock... :/ It still writes zeros in all tabs...

Lol and for future reference, the driver version should have little to no effect on your OCing as far as I know. vBIOS mods will have greater impact on this. -
Is there another way to undervolt my GPU when power control settings don't show up in CCC, because currently I'm using ATI Tray Tools for that.
ATI Tray Tools is conflicting badly with CCC from Catalyst version 12.3, so I have to find another way if I want to use the latest video drivers. -
Try this modified Trixx.
Sapphire TRIXX_4.4.0b-MOD-N.zip
Otherwise you are out of luck. AMD provides no API to modify voltage, they don't want people to overclock beyond what is provided through their CCC. Everything is nearly based on third party tools like Afterburner/Trixx for other OEMs like Asus, Sapphire etc.
Also for overclocking, if you plan on disabling ULPS, remember that is a core part of AMD PowerPlay, which is messed up atm, since AMD has real difficulty with it seems. It's all tied to overclocking, ULPS, zero core, etc. It's a mess for 3rd party tools. Which is also why Afterburner makes Enduro unstable on Windows 7. On Windows 8 is much more stable and don't need to disable ULPS.
Simply stated, the overclocking on Enduro is unofficial and it uses driver bugs. IF AMD ever patches that, then no overclocking for us Enduro users. -
@hulawafu77:
Thanx, but it didn't help. What I meant to say is that the "conflict" was screen flickering, which was caused by clocks that were changed on demand. Whenever TRIXX or ATI Tray Tools were started, the flickering began and it doesn't stop until the system is rebooted or the resolution is changed. So... no success undervolting using third party tools.
However... I successfully flashed the vbios with the new voltage setting, so I'm happy now

So is this just another bull beta with nothing to be gained. Exept for the latest games.

BETA's are always works in progress and as such are sometimes more prone to bugs. It would be like downloading Chromium web browser and expecting it to outshine Chrome dev build.
When it becomes WHQL, it will probably/hopefully address bugs and not simply be a "performance" driver. -
Indeed, I suppose I'm just eager to try this "memory controller rebuild" they talk about.
-
hey! my iron chromium-based browser ALWAYS outshines the original chrome build when it comes to performance and safety features!

Until it crashes?
Maybe with more recent builds it has gotten a lot better. I recall using it about two years ago and I ran into problem after problem within the first couple of days. I've since been looking for the "perfect browser" - and I think once Opera makes the move to WebKit, I'll be sold.
-
AMD still has the memory manager rewrite coming up. I am still on 13.1 WHQL but will upgrade to the upcoming beta with the new memory manager.
-
I'm waiting for that. If not, I may upgrade to the 780M when it's released.
-
the 780m is going to cost a pretty penny... I think ill keep my 7970m for a while
-
I really hope ati have this men manger sorted or I think people will have lost all faith in there support. It's being touted as a proper fix, I just hope it is now I've invested my money in there cards.
-
Can you explain what the memory manager rewrite is? What's wrong with the current memory manager? What is the memory manager? I've clearly missed something. I'm on 13.1 WHQL. Is this a problem with the newer beta drivers?
-
The current drivers are based on the old VLIV architecture. Our GCN is nearly a complete departure from that, and that includes the memory controller. It's no surprise I'm sure to anyone that it needs a rewrite. Unfortunate for GCN owners, AMD still hasn't done that.
