There has been a new beta driver posted recently. There are a few Enduro things mentioned in the release highlights, nothing ground braking but at least something..

Nope but something has deffinitelly changed in this release. I just tryed to run kombustor burn test, and in whatever setting, either OPEN GL 2 or 3 or dx, It always stayed at 99%. This wasnt before!!. I remember OPEN GL test even with 13.4 running at arround 70-80%. Also something has changed in the Zero core functionality. Even when running kombustor, GPU will shut down after like 10 seconds.

^If this is true it's the driver we were expecting for a long time. But why wouldn't they announce it or put it on the highlights?
-
compatible with intel 3071?

This driver is actually great , It focuses on Amd mobility driver. They were significant enhancement in Enduro technology and other related stuff here is the log:
You guys should not be depressed
Feature Highlights of AMD Catalyst™ 13.6 Beta for Windows®:
Product support for the new AMD A10, A8, A6, and A4 Series APUs on desktop and mobile platforms.
AMD Enduro technology enhancement:
-Reduces power consumption when running Windows 8 Metro applications – detects when Metro applications have idled and moves them to the integrated graphics component.
-AMD Catalyst Control Center now shows the hardware and software Information pages for AMD discrete GPUs when paired with Intel integrated graphics.
Includes AMD GPU & AMD APU OpenCL 1.2 acceleration in Adobe Premiere PRO CC.
Support for AMD Wireless Display for Windows 8 and future Windows releases:
-Supported on AMD Elite A-Series APUs with select Broadcomm and Atheros Wireless adapters.
-AMD Wireless Display Technology provides the ability to wirelessly display local screen content onto a remote screen in real time. Compliant receiver/TV required.
Resolved issues:
-Resolves HDMI Audio drop-out issues on the AMD Radeon HD Series products.
-Resolves issues with the AMD Catalyst Control Center showing Audio Display messages at incorrect times. -
Granted, its Enduro focused, but not in the way enthusiast gamers (or I ) expected.
Also, does it work with intels latest drivers and DX9 games? ...... did anyone report the problem for that matter? -
DX9 games? Kind of. Performance still has room for improvement. Installing Catalyst Application Profiles (13.5 CAP1) results in 99% GPU utilization in CoD4 but results in severe tearing. Uninstalling the CAP fixes the tearing but max GPU utilization drops back to ~ 80% and the FPS count drops too.
The new ZeroCore enhancements make overclocking a little more.. painful. That is, now I cannot just run a game in the background and apply the OC. I have to do it within 10 seconds (as mentioned by someone else), or the PC will crash if you apply the OC. -
On the bright side, OpenGL performance is significantly improved. Went from ~ 56 fps in Cinebench 11.5 OpenGL test to ~66 fps. (coming from Catalyst 13.5 beta 3 Mobility)
-
I lost about 10 fps in something as silly as minecraft with this one from the 13.5 beta.
-
still brightness control doesnt work on windows 8 pro 64bit...
-
But the improvement to Zero Core means it will actually turn off the dedicated card after running a game now?
-
I've been running these drivers with latest Intel since last night and haven't had any issues with anything. Performance seems the same, I don't have the 10 second window for OC on m 7970m, I can play in game for 30 minutes alt tab out to afterburner apply OC and see the change in game.
-
Hello, a friend of mine just got one P170EM with a 7970m, would you recommend this driver to him? Also which Intel driver should he avoid due to the enduro conflicts? Thanks in advance.
-
I updated to latest EC and Bios (from stock Bios) and installed 13.6 Beta (fully uninstalled 13.4 WHQL, then removed all AMD components from Control Panel) and all is good. Crysis 3 is smoother, it seems that updating Bios and 13.6 are a keeper for me. And yes, my video card goes to zero usage after 10 seconds. Max. temps I am getting on the video card are 5c lower than before under full load. Good luck.

im guessing he means latest EC

lol thank you jaybee83 all is now corrected.

Is the driver stable guys? I would give it a go if i had my lappy here
-
You should try them, they are pretty stable else AMD wouldn't put them on their website.
And if not stable install your older driver again, you can always try if you feel to.
I just installed the driver but I think it's stable (enough) -
Can anyone else confirm a drop in Minecraft performance? I've always been thoroughly disappointed by the utilization of the 7970M in the game (my far inferior desktop GPU runs the game at a much higher frame rate). I was hoping this would be resolved, not get worse.
I care about Minecraft more than anything -
I feel Minecraft's problem may just be its own and not related to AMDs drivers. I've never seen an AMD driver run the game with that smooth feel you see in normal DX games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. I think the game's frame time management is terrible and that the renderer just doesn't do well in delivering a smooth experience.
-
Does anyone know if Far Cry 3 black-box-shadow-thingy-bug and frame-tearing is gone with the new driver? - I'm still waiting for those to be resolved in fc3_dx11...
-
-
I wouldn't say that the issue are AMD's or NVIDIA's drivers per se. You can see that in OpenGL based benchmarks recent cards perform better than old cards. I would say that while the issue could probably fixed via drivers, it is essentially a title specific problem. I haven't had any issues with OpenGL performance on my end. Just minecraft. -
I don't know.

Running very nicely on my 7770M with bioshock
-
. I don't have a clevo though but I think this is the same for all AMD enduro laptops.
I went back to 13.5 beta 3 because 13.6 caused a big performance drop in a lot of games for me. -

How does your samsung bench by the way, would be interesting to compare to my Acer with 7770M ^-^

Thanks for the comments. Going to try 13.6 Beta.
I'm having issues running Call of Juarez: Gunslinger (started a thread about it) on 13.4 as it BSOD fairly often.
Lets hope this update fixes things. -

No, as I do not know how to.

LeeKM did what AMD could not do:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...-logs-no-questions-please-88.html#post9220503
He released a modified 13.6 beta that fixes Enduro issues. CoD4 went from, 90 fps with stuttering annoyance to: 150 fps, no stutter! -
-
The fix seems to work great on all DirectX 9 games/applications. Increased 3DMark Vantage score a little too.
But DirectX 11 utilization was sadly not fixed (e.g. BF3 still stuck at ~ 79-85% utilization). Definitely a step in the right direction. AMD needs to incorporate this kind of fix in their official driver updates. -
how did you install the fixed driver? I am getting an error related to c++.concerning a dll
-
Install the library. Microsoft c++
-
amd just updated to beta2
