Is there a release notes page up?
-
Don't know. But the Afterburner monitoring is still messed up. Just use AMD monitor instead.
-
anybody try it?
any performance increase?i doubt it.... -
-
This is mainly for the idle clock speed bug people were having. I am not sure if 7000m owners had the same issue, but I know I don't (0MHz core and memory at idle, expected when iGPU is being used).
-
still bsod?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It's worth trying, but if the idle clocks were not causing it then it's unlikely to be fixed.
-
I went from the drivers that shipped with the 9150 to this. Installation was really easy, and there were no blue screens at all.
I uninstalled the Intel and AMD drivers first. Restarted.
Used Driver Sweeper to remove the AMD files. Restarted.
Installed Intel drivers. Restarted.
Installed this. Restarted.
Everything went fine, and my 3DMark score went up around 900 points on stock clocks. -
I'll try these out tonight. 12.11 beta 4's ran games beautifully for me discounting the BSOD's.
Let's hope these do the trick. -
My clocks are fixed too. I never thought that the problem had to do with the panel (some have LG, others AUO).

I'm trying these out on 7 and 8. So far so good. Haven't tried MSI Afterburner yet.
-
Could some one explain what the .NET 4 version means? The release notes are not clear. All it says is ".NET 4 Support," as if I am supposed to know what that means.

Afterburner still won't show temps or clocks, but I can overclock if I run Kombobuster first. I'm monitoring temps with Hwinfo64. So basically the same as the first beta for me. -
-
It has support to .NET 4, meaning that there may be bugs if you try to run applications using .net4 on the non-supported version... At least that's my interpretation.
Here's the direct link: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/beta/AMD_Catalyst_12.11_Beta6_dotNET4.exe -
afaik the only real difference between the two is that the .NET version starts the catalyst center significantly faster than the non-NET one.
cheers

There's no new CAP, right?

When do you get BSODs?
-
On boot after the first install I got one on the desktop. Second time changing profile to single GPU.
Then I tried Borderlands 2 and it froze twice (no BSOD but def driver related).
Im sure I could run BF3 with these drivers but the trade off in instability isn't worth it. -
I installed this beta 6 yesterday and set the GPU to "Optimize the performance" (the last one of the 4 options in the General Switchable Graphic Menu). Everything has worked fine until now, I just have an issue with the fan (on the right of the keyboard) which starts and stops randomly every 1-2 minutes (the same for beta 4), quite annoying. Do you guys have the same problem?

Do any of you have the problem of blue screen with " attempt to reset display before timeout failed" on startup ?
My p150em is working quite well with the beta drivers, but I can only boot on battery. I try to boot with AC adapter and it bsod's...... It is for sure a problem with the new drivers because reinstalling the 12.8 I can boot from AC adapter again....
EDIT: Installed 12.11 beta 6. Now I have ZERO bsod's so my problems seem to be solvedThis is starting to look good AMD
Halleluja!!
Well, back to bsod'ing now. Hehe..... It is not supposed to be easy, I can see that now.... -
So I tried it out and still get Bsods oh well. I don't get Bsods when I boot on battery...then I plug in the ac and can't get any games to work. I got 3d11 to work and got. 6550 stock.
...tapatalk... -
With the new 12.11 beta6 I started to try to isolate the problem (again)...... Sooo......, I switched powerplay to "maximize battery life", reboot and the problem goes away. I get downgraded performnce, yes, but this can be turned back on when I need it so essentially no big deal for me. So if I switch this back and forth I do not get bsod'ed at startup. Some startup service is set to the wrong catalyst profile would be my guess, but how on earth can I find out which ?

Updating AMD+Intel Enduro drivers (Cat 12.11 and newer) + Brightness adjustment fix
(Ignore the brightness reg file step if you don't have brightness adjustment issue) -
Thanks!
Will try this later when I get home.. =) -
What is going on here guys, explain to me please!
I've never had any problems with my AMD 6990m, EVER!
Whats happening, why are so many people getting BSOD's and weird things happening with their DTR's???
Jesus, it really seems AMD has done the impossible by failing every single driver for their newest cards. How is that even possible...
At least Im glad I ordered a W370ET with a gtx660m, so I will never know about those issues you guys are experiencing.
I was almost 90% sure I'd get a P370EM, but ultimately I decided against it, cause I didnt wanna lug the 300W AC adapter and the cleaning of all the heatsinks & vents would be a nightmare. Seeing how the drivers for 7970m are still weird at best, Im glad I went with W370ET.
At least my old rig stays true to its reliability, so Im just gonna skip the 7000 series cards this year and maybe upgrade to the next gen 8000 sometime in 2013....IF the drivers get better.
I really hope you guys can find a solution for all the BSOD's, cause its getting ridiculous at this point - there are more "AMD trouble threads" out here than positive ones! -
B0btman, one word:
beta -
driver fusion/ driver sweeper , ccleaner, microsoft fixit uninstall -> clean install........ Doesn't matter. As I said, its working great per se, but the powermanagement/ powerplay thing is cusing some problems on the p150em.
Yeah, we're guinea pigs no doubt!
- The powerplay setting is messing with some startup service or app. Turned on it enhances several apps but bsod's on ac charger startup. Turned off it gives degraded performance.
- There are obvious problems with catalyst application profiles. For me, old profiles are stuck somewhere, not showing up but working. If I try to override them in 12.11beta6 ccc crashes - have to reinstall
- Also, there seem to be large differences in cpu throttling dependent on which combination/ sequence you have used for installation. For me I have been most concerned with the startup, where the cpu fan sounded like a jet engine on startup. Now it runs slower most of the time, and I manage quite a few startups on power adapter without BSOD's.
Did a super - clean install recently, works well( Newest intel + newest AMD) - I am not going to try to change my old profiles as long as i cannot locate them and delete them manually in windows.
I'm just rambling here, but if they ARE working on this and we ARE guinea pigs, I hope they are paying attention..... -

I do fill out error reports for AMD. The Clevo - modified stock drivers in 12.8 are totally stable, so these small changes should ideally come from them. Last Windows 7 display drivers from Clevo are ancient....

I've had no problems but my gx60 platform is different and I'm on win8. Merging has to happen as soon as possible or things get messy. It looks like certain configurations are having issues.
-
I keep getting a message that my catalyst application game profiles already exist, although I cleaned out everything. I have also tried to reset to factory default settings in Catalyst, but still..... I've looked for the game profiles, but no mention of them in any folder or file that I can find.... If I say yes to overwriting the old ones, catalyst crashes, so what the f... ??

Wait when you try to add a program? Is it in the existing list?

I Just got my P150em with the 7970m
I installed the chipset, then the HD4000, then this driver
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6503 3DMarks
It appears to be working but, I cannot see my GPUs temp. Anyone have this issue? -
Use AMD Monitor... It displays everything you want.
-
For those people who have Bsod , make sure you remove cataylst + intel driver completely with cleaners . Intel driver sometimes causees conflict with catalyst. Also make sure you guys enable this:
TWEAK: Enable HPET (in BIOS and OS) for better performance and FPS - Neowin Forums
it seems clevo bios doesn't make windows recognize that it have hpet so it cause conflict this is very important . solved my bsod issues completely. credit to halawa77 -

Games and Benchmarks are working fine -
AMD monitor is working, as clock speeds should be 0MHz when you are not gaming. Try recording while gaming and the excel spreadsheet will come out where the program is installed, and it will include GPU temperatures.

Edit: Under more investigation It appears my 7970m is defective, just wanted to update this post, nothing to do with the drivers I believe. -
What is this, month 7 without a functioning updated driver? So much for having a fix by the end of October.

Are you guys having trouble with windows 8 at all?
