Yesterday Asder posted this driver on the guru3d forums:

    AMD Catalyst 13.x (13.150.0.0 May 23) - Guru3D.com Forums

Pretty much everithing is new in this driver, so maybe worth the try.People are reportyng much better performnace in BF3, and much better crosfire performance. Maybe its a beta for the new Stutter-free/better frame time driver ??
I wanted to try it on BF3 bot battlelog is down, so I'll report later.

Absolutely insane guys!! My GW2 framerate is through the roof. Was getting 30-40 fps, now its like 50-80fps (max settings, full hd). MSI Afterburner marks 99% utilization constantly. It's really weird. And no, I'm not joking. The thing is, it keeps the clocks high, even after leaving the game :S . Will definetly try with a few other games... Temperatures seem normal (high 70's)... MSI.jpg

Edit: Added an image of MSI Afterburner. Note that the clocks don't go down. And even after closing bumptop, they are still stuck -_-'.

Absolutely amazing 99% utilization in every game! Tried it on Skyrim, BF3 and Most Wanted. It plays and feels smoother.

Only problem I cant get ccc to work. Any sugestions

What intel driver and OS are you guys running ?? Cause I'm still not able to get 99% utilization in BF3 in a bigger map or constatnt 60 fps at whatever settings. But yeah the game feels a bit smoother. ALso tryed NFS most wanted and it plays really nice, with 99% utill almost all the time. 3d mark score went down a bit, but who cares.. Game perfomarnce is what I'm looking for :D

Also tested BF3. It is somewhat better, but it can still drop into high 20s in a big map with lots of players when maxed out. Reducing MSAA helped a lot. But as you all say, quite a few other games benefit a LOT from this driver. For me it's 7970m's rebirth^^.

I have no issue accessing CCC . Perhaps a fresh install will help you ...

Re-installed the drivers a few times already as Administrator using driver sweeper and manually removing all the AMD files. Also tried unchecking HydraVision before install. I am running on Win8 x64.

I get this message every time when open ccc. "there are currently no settings that can be configured using catalyst control center".

I wanna try some other games I have but the GPU won't get activated because of Enduro.

Okay so I tested tomb raider- 99% all the time. Also out of curiosity I reinstalled far cry 3 and in DX 9 it plays awesome, it feels much smother and 99% all the time, also in DX11 but with those anoyng black boxes, howeever I think that the amounth of those boxes and they are less visible..Driver is deffinitelly worth the install.

The gpu usage readings are inaccurate,
Test it out by lowering the settings. The usage would but 99%, but the frames stay generally the same.

An instance of this was Need for speed. it would also show the real readings for a second at 64%, then go straight back to 100%-99%
Grid was the same, in the benchmark, the start of the benchmark, pushed out 51 frames, just like the last 13.6 beta 2 with an under utilization of 85%

Temps wise, a card working at full load was quite low.

The dead give away was having vertical sync on, and still seeing the card smash out 99%

With that stated, thhey have fixed the utilization to a degree and added optimization, but it's not a perfect 99% like afterburner shows.

I'm not currently running this driver to answer this for you but the Enduro fix patcher can be added and removed easily with the simple press of a button in the application. So, it should be simple to try it both ways and see if it makes a difference. If you find out one way or the other please report back.

Has anyone tried out ACIII with these new drivers? Does this finally fix the underutilization there?

AC III has been quite playable since the last update of Ubisoft. I'm currently using AMD 13.6b2 (AMD 7970M) on Windows 8 and I can finish the game without any annoying lag or crash.

I haven't been keeping up with the amd cards lately...is Enduro still causing utilization issues for many people with the 7970m's? I remember upon release of the card that many people weren't getting the most performance possible out of that card.

Not sure how good the card is actually. I usually play LOL, planetside and civ 5.

On LOL I usually get 70-80 fps on summoners rift. and around 60 (with drops down to 30 often) on Howling abyss, with everything on high.
Planetside I have tried to have everything on high, and get a steady 30 fps. Tried to turn of shadows, motion blur and a couple of other stuff, but still only 30 fps. I check the utilization, (idle temp 42 C) and its on average on 74 %, but with a temp of 103 C! (so i might just have a terrible paste job, on the other hand it's 28C outside).

Nothing justifies temps of 103C! When that happened to me, my GPU was being throttled so it didn't burn down. I would suggest removing the fans and clearing them and the heatsinks of all dust (which in my case reduced temps by 25-30ish) or if that doesn't work then consider doing a repaste, because it's definitely bad news for your laptop's health in the long term!

I'm sending it in for an repaste in 3 days.
I have kept it reasonably clean concerning dust, so I guess I got unlucky on the paste job from the factory.

Hi guys. I just installed this driver and its ed up my PC. I'm a techno-idiot so i'm 99% sure its just me doing something wrong, but I could use help. Basically I can't launch any games. I get various messages basically telling me I have no graphics device. Starting SC2 yields: "Graphics device is not available at this time" I'm not sure what I did wrong... First time I tried to install the driver I just went right into setup without uninstalling my old drivers. My PC blue screened during setup... I get tons of blue screens... I restarted and uninstalled my drivers, restarted again, then installed the new driver, and restarted again. I have a 9170 with a 7970M so I don't see what the issue is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My PC works fine I just can't start any games.

Try a system restore from before you installed the drivers.
