AMD Catalyst 14.4 Beta Driver for Windows

As the title says, AMD has finally updated their drivers to allow mantle support for mobile GPUs. My question is, I usually download the 'mobility' version of their drivers. Is this gonna work fine as well?

I trick for people with problems on AMD driver 14.6 on bf4 to run mantle you guys need to change fullscreen to borderless mode if you guys try fullscreen it will be impossible and will give a error !

I just tested 14.6 and BF4 Mental enabled MP game. no issues with fullscreen, game runs bit smoother than dx11 mode. 14.6 installed without a issue.

I didn't use any driver cleaner utilities. Uninstalled the old driver and restarted. After that I used ccleaner to clean the registry before install the 14.6 driver.

Strange because for me and many people we just can't play with fullscreen on bf4 with mantle render did you restart the game when you apply mantle ? Are you really use mantle !

Well maybe you get lucky I have an AMD HD 7970m but people with 8970m have the same problem !

BF4 works fine with mantle on my HD 8970M in full screen mode. Using 14.3 beta drivers.

Its definitely smoother! Been using it this way for ages, stable locked 80fps at all times on medium-high settings.

When I installed the 14.4 driver a few days ago, I noticed a drop in temps. I'm not 100% sure, but it was just a feeling. Especially when playing less heavy games such as league of legends. Previously temps would jump to around 100C, Now with the 14.6, I feel as if its gone back to the way it was before. Not 100% sure because I haven't really tested it out and documenting results...but it is just a feeling.
I am just curious if it's only me or someone else has this feeling as well.

Also, I am playing BF4 on ULTRA(MSAA off) on my 7970m. Personally, I am not noticing any difference between the dx11 mode and mantle. Can anyone who has this game report any performance gains that they have gained?

Hmmm. no idea why you guys have this issue.

Mine works without a issue and i saw slight fps increase. Game feels bit smoother than previous driver.

Make sure to install pxprofile with latest driver. Enduro needs that.

There's no link. Download original driver from Clevo web site and copy/paste pxprofile folder from packages/apps/ to 14.6 packages/apps/

Just a quick question, are any of you running Windows 8.0 or 8.1? I saw the mention of them discontinuing support for 8.0 in the driver post, and am wondering if it's time to upgrade to 8.1. Which means a whole new set of questions, heh.

    Quick question for everybody

you guys running your cards with "enableulps" off? Because I was running fine with it switched off before and not getting BSOD's on start up. Now with the new driver, I get a BSOD every other startup. and when I enable "enableulps" I keep constantly getting the 99% GPU utilization.

stuck in a dilemma here.. =)

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Edit: I have a Clevo P150EM. with a 7970m

Edit 2: I can only boot it without it BSOD'ing when unplugged from the charger. laptop has to load everything first before I plug in the adapter. I had this issue before when the drivers I used was the 12.x version

The 99% utilization is gone from me (was present at 14.4). But now I have constant flickering in all games unless i play them on borderless or windowed.

base on the benchmarks i saw from others and one report that utilisation in watch dogs increased i think amd has fixed enduro at certain degree and so the utilisation and so the temp. but definitely not always 99%

Installed this with the last intel graphics driver, now skyrim is unplayable, it's like the screen blinks very fast like if it's freezing a frame on top of another...
If i disable the 7970m, the game runs normal... I think this drive broke the game

Intsalled the drivers. Battlefield 4 crashes at times and Skyrim blinks like hell. Also, got a BSOD after the install completed.

A little advice for anyone who is experiencing BSOD or issues with Skyrim/BF4.

Don't use third party driver cleaners. I usually get no problems even if I install new drivers over the old ones. But just to be safe, i will occasionally simply uninstall the old drivers from the control panel, no fancy third party driver or registry cleaning.

If problems persist, try uninstalling whatever driver you currently have installed, install the last working driver, and install the latest(14.6) over it.

    Hope it helps =)

EDIT: Also, I do not think I have ever updated the intel drivers. Do they help improve performance?

Also had that problem and reverted back to 14.4. Seems like Skyrim blinks on every beta driver I've tried in the past few months.

i get worse performance using that driver, weather it's on mantle or DX11.... i get like 20-30 FPS less than with the 14.4 drivers.
really disappointing seeing everyone else's results.
    anyone has a fix?

    UPDATE:
i get incerdible performance on low. over 60 constant on paracel storm.
    using 7970m

Yes, but aparently the windows update had installed the AMD 7970M WDDM 1.3 update without i see, and that has bugged all the system. Re-formated win8.1 and disabled that update works for me.. Now using the last intel drives with AMD 14.4, thanks for your help :)

Ps. Sorry for any english errors.

Just tried it with BF4 I think there is like on average 5fps boost in Ultra with Mantel. It definitely feels smoother.

Although it still has utilization problems when you lower the settings because it just lowers the gpu usage and the fps just goes up to 50-60 but not more...
My previous drivers from LeekM performed better in lower settings always 60+ fps and 99% gpu usage.

Any word on if LeekM will be back?

Also no bsod on BF4. On BF3 I sometimes have to alt enter to get rid of blurryness.

    I have a p150em with 7970m.

I am happy on 14.4 drivers for now i will hold this upgrade,

And just a comment phantom: Clean up your vents! 100C is NOT a normal temp by any means, my 7970 never goes over 80C and usually works around 65 to 70C average in heavy demanding games.

Naaw I am still using the previous version of intel gpu drivers with the 14.6 beta, no issue in bf3 or watch dogs and I run them both in enduro mode

Only issue with watchdogs is that it will not save settings and thus I'm having to change every thing back

Since no one (other than leekm) would post any proof of improvement, I usually stick with the official drivers with no problems.
