Anyone else tried this? LeeKM, did you do something to the Intel driver or is it original?
-
Not that I'm using the enduro fixes, but the I've seen increases across the board with the 13.9 drivers. My 3dmark 11 score went up but over 200.
-
Is the installation of the Intel drivers necessary?
-
I finally pulled the trigger on Driver Fusion ($40, Premium lifetime) and I uninstalled the drivers, booted up in Safe Mode, ran Driver Fusion and cleaned up AMD display drivers (3 times as suggested by guides), booted up back in Windows 7, ran Driver Fusion to confirm there are no traces, installed LeeKM 13.9 modded drivers, rebooted.
I played Diablo 3 and the fps is exactly identical to what I've always had. I'm disappointed I bothered to spend $40 on something I didn't really need (I only bought it because I wanted to prolong the inevitable reformatting of this laptop), to say the least.
It would really help me if anyone who has had any luck getting more than 70 fps max in Diablo 3 explain to me which type of abracadabra chant they uttered.
My problem, as it has always been, is the utilization. It hover at whatever number necessary to keep the fps around 60-70. I can never get it at 99%.
UPDATE: I finally did it! What I did for the AMD drivers (I wrote above), I did for the Intel drivers, too. Just like that I have around 100-170 fps in Diablo 3 while playing in crowded areas in act 3. The one thing that still bugs me is that I still can't get 99% utilization. -
Ok, so I'm at an impasse and I need some help. I've got a Sager NP9170 with AMD Catalyst 13.6b2 (7970M) installed and it works fine; however, I've seen all the performance gains with the newer drivers (and LeekM's fix) and would like to update but I have yet to be able to update past 13.6b2. I've tried mobility packs 13.8b1, 13.8b2, 13.9 WHQL, 13.10b1, and 13.10b2. I swear its like Clevo/Sager give you one solid driver update and say screw this when they 'modify' their platform ever so slightly, no new drivers FOREVER.
When I uninstall/install over the top/re-install any driver but the 13.6b2 I get anything from boot crash to black/grey flickering screen. Does anyone have an idea of what could cause this? I've scoured the posts of several sites and there are too many 'suggestions'. Everything from a fresh W8 install (tried it) to disabling ULPS while in Safe Mode (haven't tried this, but willing to). Any help would be awesome... -
Dude, LeekM's fix only works for LeekM. That much we're sure of at this point.
I'm using latest intel and AMD drivers and they're working fine. -
I'll test the latest official beta against LeeKM's modded ones and do a video of the whole thing.

UPDATE: Even BF3 is hitting high fps now. Depending on the map and how busy the action is, I see average of about 80s and lowest I saw was 60s. I tried recording using Afterburner but the file ends up so big. I tried recording using a camcorder so I can also show the steps I took when uninstalling, Driver Fusion, reinstalling, but things aren't as visible. I don't really want to buy Fraps, either. I guess screenshots will do.
UPDATE #2: I seem to be getting better frames and utilization with the official 13.10 beta 2 drivers compared to 13.9 modded (LeeKM). The only difference is that LeeKM's modded drivers were a lot smoother. I went from 122-130 fps average with LeeKM's 13.9 WHQL to 140-155 fps with the official 13.10b2 official. I'm now going to try LeeKM's modded 13.10b2 drivers.
Side note: I lost faith in Driver Sweeper and I have avoided it since. The new Driver Fusion Premium, on the other hand, seems to be VERY good. I was planning on redoing this computer because none of the drivers made a difference anymore. Whenever I uninstalled and installed a new one, the only changes I would see are the driver versions. The performance were all identical. It seems that Driver Fusion fixed all this. I guess now there's no need for me to redo Windows.
UPDATE #3: LeeKM's modded 13.10b2 is identical to the official counterpart in terms of performance, for me. :/ The modded 13.9 seems to have been the smoothest of them all. -
Seanzky:
So if i am reading your first post correctly, what actually did the big change in FPS was to use driver fusion premium to clean your intel drivers after cleaning the ADM drivers? Is that correct? May i ask what intel drivers you are using? -
I installed this packet(including iDriver) and performance is good! I get a bit higher benchmark results than LeeKM and GPU usage stays on 99%. Quite happy now
-
Here's what I did:
Uninstall & reinstall AMD drivers first...
1) Uninstall AMD drivers (whatever version you have)
2) Reboot
3) Press F8 and enter Safe Mode with Networking (internet connection is necessary because Driver Fusion Premium requires it to use the "premium" and not the "demo")
4) Run Driver Fusion Premium
5) Select AMD and click on "delete"
6) Reboot
7) Install AMD drivers (whatever version you want)
8) Reboot
Uninstall & reinstall Intel drivers next...
1) Uninstall Intel drivers (whatever version you have)
2) Reboot
3) Press F8 and enter Safe Mode with Networking
4) Run Driver Fusion Premium
5) Select Intel and click on "delete"
6) Reboot
7) Install AMD drivers (the latest as of this writing is .3304)
8) Reboot
Before I did all this and retried the official 13.10b2, LeeKM's modded 13.10b2 and 13.9, my fps maxed at maybe 70. The way I used to do it was just uninstall, reboot, reinstall. It always worked for me until I tried LeeKM's modded drivers and suddenly, no matter how I uninstall and reinstall, the fps stayed the same, the menus looked the same, etc. My suspicion was that traces of LeeKM's modded drivers lingered. This was what prompted me to buy Driver Fusion Premium, not demo. -
I never use any driver removal programs, especially driver sweeper, because they can end up removing chipset files. This link is well laid-out and tells you how to manually remove all of the ati/amd files. how to properly uninstall ATI/AMD Software Drivers for Graphics Cards.

Hey guys!
Does anyone have a problem with getting the driver to install? I haven't been able to install a driver past version 13.6 beta 2. I keep getting an error which states: <?xml version="1.0"?>

Hey! I tried uninstalling both the Intel and AMD drivers again then doing a system reboot, and it worked! Everything seems to be going fine, insofar! Thanks LeekM!
