It's been out for a few days and I've been waiting for the forum's opinion. I've only ever used whql releases and I'm on 13.4 and found no reason to upgrade. Game performance is good, but on WoW is still throttles horribly. I haven't tried the dx9 fix they have here but they say it's incorporated into the 13.8 beta, but the update notes don't say anything about that. Also waiting for compatibility reviews with Intel HD's latest drivers.

Can anyone report any improvements that they have found in these drivers?

I have downloaded these but won't install them before I get my hands on some of the games the claim to be improving(Splinter Cell and Saints Row 4).

I'll try those games out on the 13.6beta2 that I have installed right now. Then I'll install the new driver and see if there is any noticeable difference between the 2. Could take be a while though.

Would be glad if someone could report the improvements if they have the said games.

You would have to be looking for drivers that apply to HD Graphics 5000 which comes on Haswell 4xxx processors only. If you have an Ivy Bridge CPU then this driver won't be available for you.

Intel drivers up to Intel HD Graphics 15.33.0.3262 still work on Ivy Bridge CPUs. You can get the drivers on station drivers (site currently under construction and in french, but the drivers are posted in the forum) or asder00 Website.

Btw: how do you download Beta drivers on the intel website? I never managed to find them there, are they posted in some Dev Corner or am I just retarded ? ...

I installed 13.8 beta2 and it works perfectly with my 7970M and Intel HD 2875 driver (yes it is an old driver but I'm afraid to upgrade it and run into the issues others are describing). No blue/black screens, no freezing, and the performance is good. Max Payne 3 may be running a bit better than it did on 13.1 WHQL.

Just out of curiosity why does Intel HD graphics performance even matter? Any older Intel driver will do anything in Windows, stream HD video, etc. just fine and since we use the 7970M (Or whatever AMD card brought you to this thread.) for anything 3D I can't see how the Intel driver makes any difference at all. I've run the 2875 before, I'm running the 3262 right now and it's made absolutely zero perceivable difference in my use of the laptop other than being a pain in the behind to clean install because of Clevo installed Enduro graphics. So, I wonder why I even bother to keep my Intel GPU driver up to date.

With Enduro, I believe the Intel HD graphics driver also helps with discrete performance in certain occasions. I know different HD drivers have given me higher/lower GPU utilization numbers in certain games.

That can't be right, Intel HD dosn't have anything with AMD discrete graphics.

I will wait until it is officially released on the Intel website.

I did, however, upgrade to 3165 and am now using the 13.8 beta2 / 3165 combo with little to no issues. I did have on instance in which Max Payne 3 opened up with the HD 4000 activated instead of the 7970M, but other than that, there have been zero issues.

And to contribute to the discussion, we must realize that the AMD GPU and Intel GPU have a VERY tight bond in the Enduro configuration. Changes to the Intel GPU driver can have a huge affect on the overall performance of that bond.

Do you mean 13.8 beta 2? If so, I have the same combination of Intel and AMD drivers as you. No issues here either. Is 3165 the latest from Intel?

Yes, I did mean 13.8 beta 2. 3165 isn't the newest, but it is the newest on the official Intel website.

By the way, 13.8 beta 2 did not improve GTA IV performance. Hell, performance may have gotten a bit worse. Freaking GTA IV. Battlefield 3 runs at a higher frame rate at max settings than this game does at max settings.

Hear hear. GTA IV is a mess for me. Getting pretty much the same crappy performance, with and without ENB . Can barely keep it at 30FPS on my 7970m on minimum settings. Just Cause 2 on the other hand, even being an Nvidia Game, runs at very high frame rate with maxxed out settings (8X AA, 16 AF, etc).

Wow, I'm done with 13.8 beta 2. Just played Crysis and Crysis Warhead, and I now have this weird frame rate pulsing issue that I have never had before. It is extremely annoying and kills immersion. What happened to AMD fixing frame times? I guess I'll go back to either 13.4 or 13.1.

Very bad peformance in new games like XCOM Declassified , Saints Row IV with 13.8 beta 2 on ALL Enduro systems, fake utilization 99% , BUT after ULPS OFF , you can see real utilization like 50-60% as a consequence 30-40 fps ( P150EM 7970m 1.1v @ 980/1400). Disgusting team work which produces the Catalyst drivers. It took one and a half years, but AMD has not fixed Enduro problem. Awful, just awful.

Weird. I've been playing Crysis 2 Maximum Edition with MaLDoHD mod with no issues. Then again, it is DX11 and not 9. I'm pretty much resigned to expect supbar performance in DX9/10 games now.

I have an Envy 17 3200 (Win7/i7-3720/7850) and never have any issues until trying to install 13.8. I am currently running 13.6 without issue. When I load 13.8, the Desktop Manager quits and I can no longer use Explorer 10. Upon restart I also can't start Skype. I certainly don't NEED 13.8, but can anyone give me a hint to what is going on???
    thanks

07Sept2013 - Should anybody care, my problem was solved when I updated to the 9.18.10.3071 19Mar2013 Intel HD driver

I have no Idea about BF3 or AC3, but SR3 and SR4 both run silky smooth on max settings. I haven't bothered checking utilization or fps per se. However, gameplay is super smooth I can't see why you are disappointed?

When flying around the city (or driving on a busy road, for that matter), I get framedrops to sub-25 fps. Whenever that happens, utilization is below 70%. I have a 3740QM and 12 GB RAM in addition to the 7970m, so that shouldn't be the problem. In fact, SR3 ran perfectly smoothly on my old desktop which was significantly weaker (5850, X4 965BE), but obviously didn't have any of the Enduro-related problems. AC3, by the way, runs better on that system as well, though not enough to call it "smooth" by any stretch of the imagination.

The latter in particular shows that AMD still has a quite a ways to go before fixing the mess that is Enduro.

lol, it's not as bad as you might think. Just some minor issues in my opinion. However, if someone is highly dependent on one of those issues...I suppose that would be a big issue for them. =)

    keep your hm with 7970m

no random frame drops. no stuttering due to the constant change in frames.

overclock it, and you should be fine for a while.

I'm running an HP laptop with Intel HD4000 + 7670M.

Latest Intel drivers (3165) and Catalyst (13.8 b2) works fine, except sometimes games run on the IGP instead of the GPU despite they are running in "High Performance" mode in CCC. It happened with Splinter Cell Blacklist, BulletStorm and CSGO.
I have to set them to "Based on power plan" to run them on the GPU again.

Moreover, Blacklist DX11 executable doesn't keep showing in the switchable graphics applications list. If I had it, and apply the settings, it is removed from the list, but it still be configured.
And often, games are not displayed in the "Recent applications" list.

If the CCC is working in 13.4 you can install only the graphic driver of 13.8, leaving the CCC and hopefully it will keep working.
