Asder leaked the 13.4, but as many noticed I'm sure, it has no support for mobile. But it does include the new Pci Bus driver that was introduced to fix the Intel issue. I have attached the driver.
Just go to Device Manager, go to System and look for PCi Bus. Update manually.
BSOD or whatever, don't cry to me. This is AMD's fix, not mine. Blame AMD and I'm sure they will just ignore you until Intel tells them to fix it again.
Working fine for me with the latest Intel 3071 drivers from Intel.com. No more DWM.exe crashes or BSOD.

Would this install as part of the package through CCC? And all it does is fix DWM.exe crashes and BSODs? I have never had a DWM.exe crash and I stopped getting BSODs last year once AMDs drivers got better.

AMDs drivers NEVER got better
back to topic. everything working fine after installed this driver and intel driver.
update: still have load mmdriver problem. sys restored -
Yes, they did, and I would defend that claim to my death. You must not have even used the stock Clevo driver when the 7970M first came out. I am comparing 13.1 to the stock driver, not including what is going on with 13.2 beta/13.3 beta.
Zymphad, indeed I stayed with an older version, which is 9.17.10.2875 to be exact. I'm fine with a stable system and good performance in the specific games I play, and I decided not to upgrade after hearing about the issues with newer versions.
Now I can see that AMD and Intel are going to have issues in the long run. When Intel puts something new out that is different enough, AMD is going to have to make up for the bugs, and vice versa.NeoCzar likes this. -
@Trantalocked, AMD drivers suck hard. -
I never said they don't need to improve, I said they got better, at least up to 13.1.

This is getting pretty comedic.

Review Update: Radeon HD 7970M vs. GeForce GTX 680M - NotebookCheck.net Reviews
Those are desktop cards? Didn't think so..........
If you're going to "bash" a product at least do so using correct and relevant information, such as perhaps the latency or CFX issues that are ongoing. Blatantly stating products "suck" without any supporting fact is the way a would go child about arguing, it adds nothing to the conversation and only makes you look stupid in the process.
As for me being a fanboy? I'm a fan of whoever puts out a high quality product at the most reasonable price, to me that sounds more like a savvy consumer. -
[PCper] Frame Rating: AMD Improves CrossFire with Prototype Driver
Let's hope AMD starts paying some attention to mobile drivers again once they get the latency issues solved. 13.1 was a huge improvement and I hope they'll continue to improve upon that. -
Here i copy the article's verdict:
-
Besides, the driver support is a huge minus, considering there has been no Enduro related improvements since the release of 13.1 (thats over three months), and there has been no talk on AMD's side to improve the situation further (there were originally supposed to be 2 additional drivers to improve Enduro). -
-
As for the Enduro improvements........the performance impact is between 2-5% in the WORST cases, I can point to several articles that paint a far worse picture of Nvidias Optimus when it was release, which took several generations of cards to fix.
The frame-rate latency issue is really the only argument anyone "hating" on AMD has a leg to stand on with, and it's something that I share a concern with as well. However, AMD has already started the chains in motion as you can see with Montages article so I think we will see some major improvements in the coming months. -
I was under the impression that the 7970M is more powerful hardware wise (as shown through 3DMark and other theoretic benchmarks), but is held back by current drivers and the fact that games have not yet taken complete advantage of the GCN architecture.

We can go on and on about overclocking, but to me it doesn't matter. I care much more about stock performance, as that is what we purchase. If it means anything to you, the HD 7950 overclocks MUCH better than its rival, the GTX 660 ti.
Yes, compute performance is notably better with GCN than with Kepler, and that is due to the unique compute hardware aspect. The thing is that game developers are still adjusting in order to take advantage of the compute capability of GCN. For a short span of time, I expect to see games designed to make complete use of GCN performing much better with the HD 7000 series over the GTX 600 series. That will end within a year or two, though, once Nvidia also includes compute hardware elements into its GPUs.
So again, because the 7970M is based on GCN, most games will not be taking complete advantage of its hardware, but this will change soon. That is why I say that the 7970M has superior hardware, on top of the fact that it scores higher in 3DMark, which should reflect overall hardware performance. It still performs as well, on average, as the 680M in games at stock clocks. -
I have also owned both cards and i can definitely say that the 680m is by far superior. Yes the 7970m may have a better benchmark score with the latest drivers, but who cares? From what i gather Enduro as a whole still isn't fixed and AMD are just patching major games to work. Wether you personally overclock doesn't matter and you certainly can't compare desktop cards here. The 680m beats its AMD counterpart by a huge margin here

..on switchable graphics machines

It's one thing to say that the 680 is faster, because it is........however slight the speed increase may be. However for anyone to claim the 680 is a far superior card is just talking out of their backside or trying to mentally justify their purchase, back statement up by facts if you want them to be considered with any merit. -
stock performance yes, the cards are basically equal, within 5% of each other depending on the game. I was referring to overclocked performance, because that is the on huge advantage the 680 has opposed to the 7970, which is basically free performance you get with the 680, which you dont get with the 7970, on top of being an overall better card. thus its far superior

Good for you
Though my experience and the one of several others here on this forum with AMDs switchable graphics has been very bad.
15% is a nice improvement but meaker here on this forum has managed a 50% overclock on his 680m. I know not everyone can do that because of heat and he has a very good chip, but i managed a 35% overclock and that's without even flashing a custom vbios. My question is, how is the 680 inferior with it performing better driver-wise and has more headroom for overclocking? -
My m15x 260m is a good example of this, I had it heavily overclocked since day 1........it lasted less than 2 years even with proper thermal management. That being said there's a lot more that comes into play with a life of a chip when we are talking about overclocking mobile gpu's. -
So, for me, the 680m is an inferior card, when compared to the amd 7970m. Driver-wise, I haven't had too many issues, but then again, I remember when Nvidia screwed some drivers badly a few years back. I'm not a fanboy. I just try to use the best tools for my job (at reasonable prices). -
-
It's also better for me as well. I don't overclock, and I was happy not spending $200 more for the 680M to get similar performance in games.
-
this went pretty OT, can anyone tell me if Catalyst13-5 fixes the intel dwm.exe problem?
-
-
The latest Leshcat 13.5 B2 installed fine here. But I install the Intel 3062 option, not the 3107, which doesn't even list our GPU so you will have to do a system restore, can't boot into Windows if you try to install the 3107 option.
- This time Leshcat has his own certificate so you don't have to use the DSE work around. Works fine on Win 8 and Win 7, just choose Intel 3062.
Leshcat -
nice link! havent seen that one before

what about same issue with nvidia cards?
-
the issue got resolved within the next version of the intel driver, it was probably a bug on their part

the intel driver 9.18.10.3165 fixed the dwm.exe issue for me
