    so what are the steps?

    1. uninstall intel & amd driver
    2. install intel driver (which version?)
    3. CMD command + reboot
    4. install modified driver

    is that correct?

Sorry I don't know this but which driver do I install in my laptop? 13.150.0 or 13.150.1? I have Win 7 64bit and a 7970M Enduro Clevo. Thanks.

I believe this is a more consistent fix. The other fix only worked for some, and this one seems to be working for more people.

    That was awful wording.

EDIT: My only question is; Do we turn off testsigning after everything is installed?

    Just installed the 13.150.1 version.

Performance is off the charts and so are the temps.
It seems like the dGPU never goes to 2D clocks, and is always stuck on full throttle. I used to have enduro set to force the dGPU, and when on the desktop it would idle to 40ºC. Now it idles at 75ºC. Even if I manually set the clocks to the bare minimum, it is still stuck at that high temp. I set the dGPU to only kick in on 3D apps, else the iGPU takes over. Gaming is superb, but even on a 20 min session in GW2, I was able to reach 92ºC. With minimum clocks (and yes, even so it performs better than overclocked before). The gains for me are huge in BF3, Grid2, GW2 and Remember Me.

Can't wait to see this driver polished :3.

EDIT: Also, 99% reported utilization. Pretty much always. Seems somewhat fishy.

doesnt look like ur manual force to minimum clock actually works ;) also, 72C on idle doesnt sound right, have u checked if theres a process using ur dgpu the whole time?

The GPU does report the clocks I set, and the temps do decrease. I've been running 850/1200 now with Fn + 9 and temps haven't gotten beyound 86-88º C. Decreasing to 425/600 does help with the temps (IKR) and it barely breaks high 60's, low 70's.

But nope, the GPU doesn't idle. It constantly considers 3D clocks, and goes full speed ahead! My only option is to use the iGPU for the light work. I can have no application running, and the GPU keeps going full-throttle!

AMD is certainly onto something with this driver. Still, it is no wonder this driver isn't even on a public-beta program.

Have you gotten the chance to try it out Jaybee?

Neither xD. A windows 8 x64 machine. A P150EM, much like yours (only with 2x8GB of RAM and 2x4GBs of RAM).

Ah, I know what you mean jaybee. I'm used to setting up the Android phones for my gf. I got myself a Oppo Find 5 to replace my old HTC Evo 3d. Wish you a fine vacation on such a beautiful country (or so I hear!).

So..I just tried the newest(.1) version.. but either my afterburner is broken, or this driver is a fake... it forces gpu 99% all the time, even if it's not using 99% ? I checked this by limiting my fps to a low value, which should drop the gpu usage, but it's still a flat 99% line, that's not the real utilisation I can tell you that.. I'm removing it now, since it ups the temperature for nothing (up to 85°C , instead of 78°C with +- same fps...I only tried dx9 game btw. so I can't tell you anything about dx11 performance increase/decrease.. i'm trying the .0 version now.. will report back

Btw I'm on W7 64bit.. maybe it's because the 8.1 pre is meant to be installed only on 8.1? (since jaycob has also 99% all the time in w8) :p

nah this problem is from amd's driver itself, where it would give a fake reading of 99% and not because of the mod. this was also a problem in driver 13.xxx, which this mod is also based off.

Ah k.. weird that my temps are that high then... anyway, the .0 version gives same error.. If I'm correct I was previously running cat 13.4 with 13.5cap1 and enduro fix.exe , on which i had normal usage readings

Did you not notice an increase in performance in some games? I most certainly did. It is weird that it reports a very usual 99% utilization. Considering the temperatures, I wouldn't be surprised if it is actually being utilized 99%, but not effectively resulting in a proportional FPS increase. It is possible that even when the the CPU hasn't requested a draw call to the GPU that it is just being "used", hence the 99% util. The temperature increase is most certainly noticeable. Guess this is why it they didn't make an open beta about it.

Yes the temperature is now constantly the temperature i normally get when my gpu is fully used(90°C, and then the higher fan speed setting kicks in, which prevents it from going above that in my case. But the question is: why would I want my gpu to be fully used and produce a lot of heat when it's not necessary? For example: I play a lot of League of legends, which only needs 60fps constant. The 7970M only needs about 50-60% of it's power to achieve that on highest settings... My gpu is normally only around 75°C when playing that game, but with the latest drivers every game hits 90°C... I personally think that this puts unneeded stress on the hardware, which I guess shortens the life span...

Unless we're talking wanton overclocking, the extra heat on the GPU coming from utilization isn't unnecessary stress. It's the card being properly used.

If it's just going to waste on unneeded frames in a lower end game like League of Legends, vsync it.

do you have vsync on for those games?

If not, it sounds like gpu is being used above 95%.
ps. 90 is a little high. you might want to get that checked out...

Vsync on fixed it for league of legends indeed, only 30% used and 75°C max. btw 90 high? before my mods, i got 100+ :p do you own a 7970m in a 15" formfactor yourself? because I think these are pretty normal temps for this card on 100% usage(I don't have fn+1 full fan speed option, otherwise temps would be lower). Anyway thanks for the vsync tip!

vsync adds a very noticeable lag for me. Instead use the fps option 'stable' in the league of legends video settings. This will limit fps while at the same time add no input lag like vsync does.

so you're saying, you get temps of 90c with vysnc off?

Temps like that, will kill the card man. I never really worried about temps, and they used to hit the mid 90's easy. long story short, card died on me, and had to get it replaced ...

First step is to take off the back.

take out the fan's, and you should see a large amount of dust buildup between the fan and the heatsink,
wipe that off with cotton tip or whatever.
if you have a air compressor, pump some air around to get rid of the dust.

put everything back, play some games, check temps.
if still reaching the 90's, time for a repaste,..

Also, airflow is need from the bottom, so throw some poweraid bottle caps underneath the footers, to raise it up from the bench.

I do have a 15 build with the 7970m, and the temps never go above 79c(max load, without fn+1).
With max fans on, it's about 74-75c.

If I do that, my gpu usage is back to 99% so that's not an option for me, and I don't notice input lag..

hmm ok.. I thought 90 was ok.. since I removed the backplate plastic where the fans are and replaced it with a wide hole grille, and put my notebook cooler fans directly underneath the fans..(with the cooler, the back of the notebook is lifted 10cm above the table) only thing I can try is repaste then...

I have modified Enduro drivers GPU usage is increasing.

Please direct experience with the difference between the existing driver.
