So when I turned it on for the first time, the screen was nice and bright, then I restarted it because of some updates, and it was still bright and nice. then, i shut it down for a few hours, turned it on, and the screen was bright and nice, but then, when i logged into my account, everything turned very dark for some reason.

Did you unplug it from an outlet?

Do you have it in powersaver, balanced, or performance. Also did you try to push the touch sensitive button with the boxed "W" in it. It changes some screen settings. Try to do a system restore to before the updates. If all else fails, call vendor support.

I reboot it 5 seconds ago, and when everything looked good till I logged in, then 2 seconds later, things turned dark, then they turned bright. I think you're right in that it may have to do with wow video. Do you have a sager? If so could you check what the default setting is on for wow video?

I have the sager NP2096 and the wow video setting is set to "normal"
I am also testing the battery life. I have been online and doing things with the computer with the wifi switch on for 3 hours and still have 25% remaining.

Well normal for me is quite dark, so I used custom. We alsmost have the same specs except I have ultimate and only 100 gigs on hard drive :p

OK now that I use custom, when I log in, the screen is normal, then turns dark (wow video normal), then it turns to custom. I think it's wow video. Can I remove wow video?

I believe you can remove the WOW video and audio utility from Add/Remove programs.
