    I just got a Eurocom Racer with 6970 and the 3D mark 2006 score is ridiculously low. about 5000. Sad :(

    Did you try different drivers? It's sometimes surprising how much of an effect they can have on performance. I guess you thought about performance mode and all that.

    If the above driver options don't work, use HWinfo and monitor your temps. You might be throttling due to bad thermal paste or other overheating issues. You're right though, that average 3D Mark 06 scores for the 6970 are around 17k

    06 scores are totally CPU biased. Literally, it would probably not be difficult to hit 17k with integrated graphics on a server with 2 quad cores.

    I've had this problem

    I"d suggest the Clevo Provided 6990M Drivers, Those are FM APPROVED TOO! And work great on the AMD6970M
    [IMG]
    -Express un-nstalled the old driver though ati catalyst install manager;
    -Reboot safe mode > Delete Drivers with driversweeper;
    -Reboot Normal mode > CCleaner registry scan & fix
    -Install AMD 6990M Drivers, Reboot
    -Make sure power settings are on High & GPU isnt stuck on idle mode, and re-run benchmark

    Hope it helps.

    I've Re-uploaded the drivers to Filesonic ( Because my premium account ) feel free to distribute when clevo site is down.

    Ok I think I got it sorted out,. THe laptop came with Win 7 Pro upgrade. Coulodnt get the key to work on a clean install. I didnt want to use my new Win 7 HP key but I used the disk to install. Then when ask for the key it allowed me to skip [sweet] then I continued to Windows and inserted the upgrade disk and did a upgrade to Pro. Took a long time to reinstall all the drivers and apps but it was well worth it. Its super fast now. Must have been a real botched previous install by someone. Thanks for everyones help and all the links.

    The Mobility 11.8 from the Clevo thread. It appears I am clock locked at 100 and 150mhz for some reason though. Damn this is challenging to get it right.

    Fresh install of Windows was main improvement. Unlocking the Overdrive and tweaking the clock speeds got them working. For some reason they were frozen and wouldnt respond. I got this machine used so I think it had some sort of bogus image on the HDD that came with the machine. I tried to install a fresh copy of Win 7 Pro and it kept saying invalid key. I installed a Win 7 home premium and didnt have to install a key. Booted to Windows and did an anytime upgrade with the Pro disk provided. After doing that the system came to life and the weird problems went away.
