(sorry, the title has a typo, should just be about P650rs, but i do not know how to modify the title)
Hello!
So, I have a clevo P650rs (Eurocom sky mx5 r2, i7-6700hq+m1070) with broken dgpu, and since it is out of warranty, my reseller is charging me ~1100 USD to replace the entire motherboard since both cpu and dgpu are soldered on.
However, after some research, I managed to find a source where I can order a stock replacement P650rs (i7-6700hq+m1070) motherboard directly with half of the price. This is really tempting since I can save around ~600$ for the repair, and don't need to spend another 1500$ to buy a new laptop.
So my question is, how hard is the motherboard replacement itself? There are vely little information available on the internet...
Thanks.

I think it should be fairly easy and straightforward to dismantle the motherboard. You can get the service manuals here. THer was another link to the service manuals but i can't find it any more.
I would suggest you setup a camera and record what you're doing (don't do 60FPS tho) so that if you get stuck, you can always go back to the video to find what went wrong.

Pictures of each stage on your phone too can help.

Also, just wondering, if I install a new motherboard, would it affects BIOS and such? is there anything on the software level that needs to be done, such as compatible driver for screen, harddisk? -
Only problem you might get is your Windows license and the mainboard has been changed even though it's still the same spec. -
