I am thinking of buying a Sager 5720-V. Is it easy to remove the DVD-Writer? I have to disconnect the drive sometimes to play my starforce protected games. I dont want to carry the games around with me.

    Thanks.

You can always temporarily disable the DVD drive in hardware manager. It will be the same as disconnecting it as far as other software is concerned.

I have a 5710 and I have to remove the DVD writer to use the secondary battery. The 5710 and the 5720 are the same machine except for the graphics card.

Can i remove it easily for temporary gaming and re-insert it? Is there some kind of a slide in slot?

Yes, it is easy to remove the drive. On the bottom of the notebook, there is sort of a slide-thing - you'll see it. Unlock it (also a slider for that), then push the slider, and the drive will come out.

There won't be any problems taking it out to play games, that is, unless you need the CD to play. :p

There is a latch that locks the drive in and another latch that pops it out. I had trouble with the lock the first time I used as it seemed to get stuck but now it unlocks fine.
