BUT... before I do... am I missing anything else that would not cost that much more that would be better?
I mainly surf the net, taking care of my forums, while using a few other programs like MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Thunderbird email, FTP program, Paint Shop Pro, but mostly Firefox.
I currently have an HP HDX18t, so I like the bigger screen, but I don't want to pay the extra for the 18.4 over the 17.3. The HDX is a very hot machine, despite having a pair of SSDs. It is also very heavy, which I believe the 7130 should be a bit lighter. While minor, the power connection for the HP is on the right hand side of the machine, the 7130 is on the left back, which will be better for my recliner setup, keeping the cored from having to cross over my body, which is sometimes aggravating.
I mainly just want to make sure I am not missing anything I should be considering as well as the 7130.

Nothing? Anyone?
Thanks! -
Wow... I thought the 7130 had not long been released and it looks like it is already discontinued. Am I that far behind?
Is there a replacement for it yet? -
I guess I can talk to myself.
I promise... I do not have the plague. -
There is no replacement yet. I'll venture a guess to say that Clevo is waiting for the Sandy Bridge dual cores. ETA unknown.
-
Yes, it looks like you'll have to wait until the middle of February. Intel only released the quad-core Sandy Bridge CPUs which put the manufacturers in an unpleasant position.
-
Would you have any idea if it would be that big of a deal to wait or go ahead and pick up a 7130, since I can still get one now?
Thanks! -
The replacement for the 7130 will be the 5170. ETA is End of Jan.
-
Are there any pre-orders for these available anywhere?
Any images available?
Thanks!
The only place I found any 7130's is now sold out. At least that eliminates any decisions about waiting for the replacement. -
