    Hello everyone !

I work for a newly formed video games development company (actually I partially own it) and wish to get a powerful laptop. I was thinking about the D900C.

I hesitate in choosing a seller. I though for a while that Hypersonic would be good, but recently their ratings are very poor and I read horror stories concerning their customer service... On the other hand, RJTech seems good but they don't use AS5, there is no dead pixel policy, etc.

XoticPC has good reviews, but it is still a Sager reseller. I think it's probably normal that XoticPC has good reviews if all after-sale service is being handled by Sager... and Sager has 5 or so out of ten at resellerratings. Or does the consumer only deal with XoticPC ?

Also, I am surprised that shipping costs are not covered both ways in case of in-warranty repairs. I live in Canada, so having to ship a laptop would be costly, I suppose.

I wish to know what would be your desicion based on your personal experiences. Thanks a lot.

Since you are in Canada, I would recommend to look at:

Its one of the most well known Clevo resellers... as well as a distributor to other small resellers.

RJtech is a great reseller with great pricing, if you want any special instructions (like using AS5), just call them. :) This would be recommended with any reseller that you deal with.

As for the Sager resellers, they are the 3rd party that will handle support and service with the consumer, only when there is a hardware issue that the system will be sent to Sager for repair or replacement.

I know he's not loved around these parts, but I have loved my dealings with Killernotebooks. I've had my Executioner about a year now (Clevo M570u). He's helped me upgrade my gpu from a 7900 to a 7950GTX; even gave me an exchange on the old one. He's helped me overclock it. He's showed me how to mod the cooling. He's offered to send me a new modified backplate and gpu cooler now that he has those. The rig has been rock solid and I've yet to have a single problem.

His website sucks and he's a small outfit, but I've yet to hear a single complaint from anyone who's actually used his machines; you will find a lot of complaints about how he's a bit abrupt with forum postings and his competition though.

He doesn't yet offer the d900c, but I know he's looking at the new lineup clevo rigs and is testing it out prior to just pawning it off on his customers; he doesn't do pre-sales before he's actually tried the thing out himself.

I use mine for everything; work (architect stuff), and gaming (serious CPL Championship competition type stuff + beta testing: damn nds contracts).

For me, hardware issues (and crappy drivers) are the only possible issues. I don't need (nor want to pay for) 24/7 support for simple software problems.

I've just taken a look at Eurocom, it's so expensive !
    For the same config:
    Eurocom: 5043 $CAN (4630 $US)
    RJTech: 3074 $US
I guess I'd have to contact them to negociate the price.

    Thanks again

Eurocom is a great reseller because they will negotiate their pricing to make sure that you dont feel ripped off.

I didn't bother to read the rest of the posts, so my bad if this was already mentioned. RJTech will apply the Artic Silver 5 Compound if you request it. I know this because I had them apply it to my M570U which is scheduled for delievery tomorrow :D . RJTech also does have a stance regarding dead pixels, which is pretty much the standard policy that most resellers have. This is that the LCD will have no more than 5 dead pixels and none in the center area. By none in the center area they mean if you divide the screen into 9 equal sections such as this "#", any screen with dead pixels in the center square will be replaced.

    Hope this helps,

    The Old Man

Hey don't worry, buy from them. I did. Just remember a simple rule:
    Eurocom = web price - 25%.

I filed multiple requests with them for them to adjust their prices because they were scaring customers away. Anyway just take your lower priced US resellet, add taxes and submit a price match. THEY WILL do it.

Last year I manage to get 1000$ off the price of the m570u.

Otherwise, they have an outstanding customer service. I'll never buy anywhere else again.

Sad, but true. Maybe, in the balance, the customers they manage to rip off worth more than adjustung their prices. I remember getting an instant 800$ discount on the first email, just saying - wow, your prices are so high!. Then after the initial discount you start to see where you bite in their profit margin. That was the fun part.

    In one word: Negociate!

the M570U is pretty much stripped down, if the price is within $100-200 to each other... then the pricing is fair.
